Since then she has sold over one hundred short stories, novellas and novels. When she’s not working on her books, Kate enjoys reading, working out and spending time with her family and pets. She also writes under the name Saloni Quinby.About the Book
Title Scarlet Nights 3: Feasting With the Enemy
Genre Erotic Vampire Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): RAfter more than a century sharing a bed and fighting at each other’s backs, vampire warriors Blair and May have forged an unbreakable bond.
Now the mysterious New Reign is seeking additional members. Their philosophy–recruit or destroy. Using mind manipulation, they stir up dark memories from the past to tempt Blair and May into killing each other.
Given the chance to resurrect his murdered first wife and children, will Blair now sacrifice the woman he loves–his wife and blood child, May?Stressing The HeroineEvery heroine has a story. She has a background, a history, and a past. This interview allows us to meet a heroine and get to know her better, by focusing on how she handles being relaxed, as well as how she handles stress. The Heroine’s Relaxed Side
This heroine is at a party. Considering her story, describe the party. The party is located at the Cock and the Pussy Willow, an exclusive vampire club in London. It’s a masquerade party and takes place in the lounge section of the club. May and her husband, Blair, are dressed in 1920s attire that they have actually kept in storage from that era.How does the heroine feel about being this particular party, and what body language is she displaying that gives it away?May is enjoying herself immensely. Many of her and Blair’s old friends are at the party and she is spending time, relaxing on one of the couches or dancing with Blair. Is she more likely to mingle or remain aloof?May enjoys mingling with her friends. She likes to have fun, but she doesn’t feel the need to be the center of attention. She’ll dance and share jokes, but won’t make a spectacle of herself. If she drinks, what is her drink of choice at this party?Like most vampires, she has a taste for blood-laced wine. How much drink is her usual? She’ll have one or two. Neither May nor Blair drink to excess. The heroine figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party? It’s to share some private moments with her husband, Blair. They’ve been hanging around the Cock and the Pussy Willow for so many decades that they know the best hiding spots. Is she likely to latch onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is she the friend that others latch onto? She and Blair are quite close and will probably be together for most of the party. They’ll also spend time with their friends, in particular the club’s owner, Daria, and Blair’s blood father, Hamilton. Typically, May isn’t the sort to latch on to others. If someone picked a fight at this party, how is the heroine going to handle it?It depends on who’s involved. She might jump in to help or she might ignore it completely. Is the heroine the one most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?Again, it depends. If she and Blair get into an argument, Daria might toss them both out. Will she know when to leave, or stay late and make a nuisance of herself?May not only will know when to leave, but she and Blair will might say goodnight early, depending on their plans or if they get called away on duty. The Heroine’s Stressed Out Side
How does the heroine handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls her aside when she was blameless in a situation?May is a warrior in the battle against evil vampires, so usually she and Blair are the authority figures. Daria rules the vampire warriors of London, so if she called May out, May would be respectful, but she wouldn’t be shy about explaining her side of the story. It’s happened many times before. How does the heroine react to hearing a scream?May’s first instinct is to investigate. She’s always prepared to handle a potentially dangerous situation. If she sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing that crosses her mind?Stop the fight and find out what’s going on.If she sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing she does? She’ll most likely do what crosses her mind and step in, especially if she sees a vampire attacking a human. This heroine attempts to rescue someone and realizes that she is in over her head. The odds are against her and there is no way out. She is going to get her butt handed to her. What does she do?May won’t go down without a fight. She’ll do her best to hold them off while sending out a telepathic call for backup. Hopefully Blair, Daria or another warrior will be nearby to help. The heroine runs into the one person from her past she wanted to avoid. She can’t get out of the situation and must interact with him/her in some way. What does she do?The leader of the New Reign is someone she never wants to meet again, but if she does, she’ll stand her ground and use the psychic skills she has learned from Blair, Disdain and her other mentors to prevent him from manipulating her mind.Someone younger than the heroine is in charge of the situation, and they are handling it badly, perhaps bungling things. How does the heroine deal with it?She’ll do her best to help them because not too long ago (at least by vampire standards), she was the overzealous novice in need of help. May will attempt to be discreet at first, taking the person aside, if possible, to offer advice. If they refuse, she might let them get into trouble so they’ll learn from their own mistakes, or if it’s a dangerous situation, she’ll overrule their decisions and do what she must to keep people safe. The heroine is in physical pain but must bear up under it and keep going. What does she tell herself in order to get through the situation? This happened recently when May suffered a gunshot wound. It wasn’t serious, but painful. She continued fighting and managed to subdue her enemy. She told herself to rely on her training, not to mention she had a personal grudge against this person that made her refuse to give in.What mentor’s words come to mind in a bad situation? She has had several excellent mentors, so it would depend on the exact situation. If faced with the leader of the New Reign, she’ll most likely rely on the teachings of Disdain, however. What lesson from her past gets her through a stressful situation? When she first met Blair, she was a victim of the way society treated lower class women during that era. Blair taught her how to defend herself and that she could do just about anything she put her mind to. It’s that lesson that has not only helped her survive many difficult situations, but has also saved Blair’s life on several occasions.Buy This Book

#Cancer Awareness: The Nad Punch @jordankrose Her Vampire’s Promise #RLFblog
Her Vampire’s Promise From Kayelle Allen: This week on Romance Lives Forever I’m sharing
stories by authors who have faced cancer either in themselves, or a family member.
The importance of friends and family, and having a support system is vital. One
key to success is being able to ask for help — and then being willing to accept
it. It’s a lesson I’ve had in my own life during various times. I don’t accept help
well. It’s something I fight with all the time. I’d like to think “I’ve got
this” but sometimes I don’t have as good a grip as I thought I did. I have
a friend who’s dealing with cancer right now. A friend’s brother died from cancer
last year. Cancer affects all of us. I hope I’m even half as good a friend as those
you’ll read about in this series.I’m presenting these posts as an opportunity for the authors
to share their real life stories, as well as their fictional ones. There’s a short
list of ways you can show your support at the end of each post. The Nad Punch by Jordan K Rose
I’d like to start by thanking Kayelle
for inviting me to participate. Having the opportunity to talk about my experience
will hopefully help others who find themselves in the terrifying position of receiving
an ovarian cancer diagnosis. This past July I was diagnosed with
an early stage of a rare form of ovarian cancer, specifically- a granulosa cell
tumor. To say the news was shocking is an understatement. We received it during
a post-op visit where had anticipated hearing great results about a surgery and
anticipated a routine recovery. We did not plan to hear, “We think you should
have the other ovary removed and have chemo.”My husband described that visit as
“it was like being punched in the nads.” I’d heard men say that expression
before, but never had a reference point until that meeting. Apparently, ladies,
the “nad-punch” experience is mind-numbingly painful and can cause you
to forget any other thought. We’d been warned not to Google ovarian
cancer and get worked up over what we read because this type of cancer was so different
and so rare. Of course we Googled, but we Googled granulosa cell tumor. We narrowed
our search and we searched high and low and came up with not a whole heck of a lot
of data.Granulosa Cell Tumors make up about
4% of ovarian cancers. There is not a great deal of research to share because of
this. Unfortunately, most of the data is “after the fact” sort of information
because the cancer is not well known. There is not a central repository for doctors
to link patients and share information on what’s happening, when it happened, types
of treatments, what worked or didn’t. There’s not a standard protocol for measuring
hormone levels in advance of surgery, which would be very helpful for every patient. This is a cancer with high probability
of recurrence, though a great prognosis if detected early with women living many
years past the original diagnosis. It’s a slow growing cancer with definite indicators
of potential recurrence like monitoring the Inhibin and AMH levels quarterly, then
every six months after the first few years. There are great resources for women
through the Granulosa Cell Tumor Research Foundation and the Ovarian Cancer National
Alliance. There is also a Facebook group of GCT Survivor Sisters! (you must have
a diagnosis of GCT to be a member of the FB group). If you find yourself in the unfortunate
position of receiving this diagnosis, please utilize the groups above and feel free
to contact me at contactjordan@jordankrose.com.
I’m more than happy to share what I’ve learned or to lend an ear and be a support
to you.I sought a second opinion at the Dana
Farber Institute in Boston. I encourage anyone receiving a cancer diagnosis to receive
a second opinion before deciding on treatment. After all my research I decided against
chemo or surgery as there was no indication any cancer remained in my body. Thus
doing something drastic “just in case” made no sense. But everyone’s decision
is personal and patients need to make decisions that feel right to them.At the Dana Farber Institute I’ve
signed up to participate in a research study to allow them to better understand
the genetics of this cancer, thus leading to a cure. I’m happy to participate and
hope other patients will consider doing the same to help find a cure.Below please find the information
on one of my free books, Her Vampire’s Promise, Novella One in the Romance In Central
City Series. Losing myself in books has gotten me through some difficult times and
I wanted to share a book that everyone can afford. As well, if you sign up for my
newsletter, you’ll get the second novella in the series, The Vampire’s Partner for
free.Wishing every cancer patient all the
best in diagnosis, treatment and recovery.JordanHer Vampire’s Promise
Reade Hayes knows better than any vampire that nothing good ever
comes out of Central City. So he isn’t surprised the beautiful blonde he meets in
the dive bar is crazy. What does surprise him is how fast she moves, how hard she
hits, and the fact she’s wearing a ring he last saw two decades ago on the hand
of his dead friend. Was this the little girl he swore a blood pact to protect? Why
had her uncle lied about her death? And what had he done to make her so lethal?Buy This Book

A Fading Amaranth by @Shauna_A_Knight #RLFblog #PNR
Shauna Aura Knight author of A Fading Amaranth answers five easy
questions to help readers get to know her better.Author Bio
Shauna Aura Knight
An artist, author, and presenter, Shauna’s work is inspired by magic and
awakening mythic imagination. She’s a fantasy artist and author of paranormal
romance and urban fantasy including Werewolves in the Kitchen, Werewolves with
Chocolate, A Winter Knight’s Vigil, and The Truth Upon Her Lips. Her
mythic artwork and designs are used for magazine covers, book covers, and
illustrations.She travels nationally offering
workshops on the transformative arts of community leadership, facilitation,
dreamwork, and personal transformation, and is the author of numerous articles
and books on those subjects. http://www.shaunaauraknight.comWhat is your go-to meal
when you dine out?Barbecue. I discovered that I have a number of food
intolerances that lead to brain fog, exhaustion, and depression, and I need my
brain at 100% to write and paint. Thus, pasta, pizza, and ice cream are all off
the menu. But barbecue…oh barbecue. Particularly brisket. I also like a good
ribeye. And fresh-squeezed orange juice is kind of like my ice cream these
days.Tell us about your
favorite toy as a child.Star Wars toys, particularly Luke Skywalker. I used to build
elaborate rebel bases out of mud and sticks. Probably won’t surprise you that I
also liked Legos a lot too! When I was thirteen, I started my own small
crafting business to save up money for a sword. It wasn’t quite a lightsaber,
but it was close enough. What are your hobbies? The word “hobby” and the word “work” definitely overlap for
me. I’m an artist and an author, and writing and painting are both things that
I do for enjoyment as well as professionally. One of the things I used to do
for fun is build replica Star Wars scenery for parties. I met up with a bunch
of Star Wars fans years ago and we started throwing parties at sci-fi
conventions; I was in charge of decorating the suite. Each year we’d get more
elaborate. Hoth, Dagobah Swamp, the Emperor’s Throne Room, the Trash Compactor,
Jabba’s Palace, and Cloud City and the Carbonite Chamber. For a while I had a
life-size replica of Jabba the Hutt living in my apartment. If anyone wants
pictures, just contact me, I have them on my portfolio. When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?Definitely paranormal romance, particularly my go-to authors
like Emma Holly, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Karen Marie Moning. I’m also fond of a
good epic fantasy series. An old favorite of mine is the Dragonriders of Pern
by Anne McCaffrey. What kinds of things do
you read when you’re researching a new book?I love the internet. There was one day where I was
researching what I should call underwear in the 1940’s, how long it takes a
hunter to butcher a deer, and researching certain landmarks in New York City. In
fact, Google maps even allowed me to get both birds-eye and on-the-ground views
of Central Park, which allowed me to plan out a fight scene. I have another
vampire romance where the characters are questing for the Grail, so I have a
stack of books on Grail lore, but I was also online researching different types
of meteorites since some legends hold that the Grail is an emerald that fell
from the sky. In other words, I’m a big time geek when I’m doing research for a
new book!About the Book

the story.About the Author
Allie Ritch is a multipublished author of sizzling scifi and
paranormal romance. She has an active imagination and enjoys entertaining others
through storytelling. Allie lives in her own little world in the Southeastern United
States, where she spends time appreciating the ocean and sunshine.Interview with Allie Ritch
Why did you write this book?Just My Type is the second book in my Vampire Territory series.
After writing the first book, Drinking Partners, I knew I had other characters demanding
to have their stories told, and Eryx pushed his way to the forefront for book two. What is your favorite genre to read?I love paranormal romance and sci-fi romance equally, which is
why I write in those genres too.Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including
your own)?Do I have to pick just one? Because I’ve got a lot of favorites.
Right on the spot, though, I’d have to say Nix from Kresley Cole’s Immortals After
Dark series. Or Eve Dallas from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. Or Rhage from J.R.
Ward’s Blackdagger Brotherhood series. Or… Yeah, it’s hard to pick just one. What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you
in coming months?I’m working on the rest of the Vampire Territory series, so keep
an eye on my blog and/or Twitter feed for announcements about the next release.
I can tell you that book three features Jaide, the only female warrior among Alex’s
guards. Please tell us about your latest book. There’s trouble in vampire territory, and Melody is right in
the middle of it. A new arrival from Eastern Europe named Taspar Tong is out to
take over her masters’ domains using the army he has at his command. Mel is a personal
assistant, not a soldier, and big male vampires scare her. That includes Eryx, the dark-haired warrior who is always watching
her and baiting her with his remarks. If only he didn’t look so sexy. Mel figures
Wess Gage–their human captive–is a far safer love interest, although Wess is part
of the Human Rebellion bent on exterminating all vampires. Can he really see past
his prejudice, or will he turn on her? There are two dangerous men in Mel’s life. She just has to decide
which of them is her type–the one who makes her feel human again, or the vampire
who makes her blood boil?About the Book

Bucket List: Harriet – Knights Vampire @kryssiefortune #RLFblog #vampirelove
Knights Vampire
by Kryssie FortuneThe bucket list interview allows a hero or heroine to tell readers
about himself or herself. Today’s list is from Harriet Mortlake.Age: 22Gender: FemaleBirthplace: LeedsProfession: ArchivistWelcome to Romance Lives
Forever. Your author introduced you. Now we’d like to get to know you better. Please
tell us about yourself.I’m nothing much really. I’m tall, almost six foot, and sadly
about ten pounds overweight. I don’t think there isn’t a diet I haven’t tried, or
failed to stick to.I’ve got a bit of a temper too. My dad used to hit mum, and I’ve
inherited my temper from him, I was twelve years old when I found him beating on
her in the kitchen. I was so angry that I hit him on the head with a frying pan
and dragged my mother off to a shelter. Mom’s convinced I saved her life that night,
but I’ve never lost my temper like that since. I daren’t. It scared me.I have a first class degree in library studies. I was lucky to
land this job at Whitborough Castle straight from university. If the last two archivists
hadn’t vanished, and I could have shaken the “someone’s watching me” thing,
it would have been my dream job. When someone dies, we
say they “kicked the bucket.” Therefore, a list of things that a person
wants to accomplish, places to go, situations to experience, and so on have become
known as a “Bucket List.” We’d like to know yours, please. If you haven’t
made one before, perhaps now would be a good time. Who knows? It might inspire another
book. While you’re at it, how about telling us about some of your other favorite
things? Here are the questions. What are two places you
would like to visit before you die, and why?I want to sail up the Amazon and see pink dolphins. They sound
amazing. Maybe that could my honeymoon trip.I’d like to visit Jerusalem too and follow in the steps of the
crusaders. There’s something romantic about the Knights Templar or the Knights Hospitaller.
My personal favorites are the Knights Defender though.Where is a place you would
never like to return, and why?The hidden dungeon beneath Whitborough Castle. I can smell the
stale urine and feces just thinking about it.I didn’t much like university life. I was too geeky to fit in.
Shall I tell you a secret? I got angry when my one and only boyfriend told me I
was frigid. I tossed his clothes out the window and shoved out into the dorm’s corridor
stark naked.I suppose the worst place ever was my childhood home. Dad was
a bully who liked to make me cry.Who is someone you would
like to meet, and why?Can you imagine a real live knight defender let loose in the
21st century. I don’t mean some geeky re-enactor. Imagine a genuine knight with
the muscles to swing a broadsword and the courtly grace of Queen Eleanor’s courts.
Wouldn’t that be something?Oh, did you mean someone real? I’m actually a bit of dreamer,
but maybe Julian Richards. Never heard of him? I’m geeky, but he’s the archeologist
come media presenter who did an in depth study of Stonehenge. Mum bought me his
popup book of Stonehenge before she died as a spoof gift, but it’s one of my most
treasured possessions.Who is someone you would
like to avoid, and why?Real or fantasy? I wouldn’t care to meet Blaxton’s wicked cousin
Rolf again. He’s got a vicious streak a mile wide. He wanted to create his own vampire
army and take over the world. Human life means nothing to him.If you could time travel
to any date, what would it be, and what would you do there?I’d love to go back to the 1180’s when Peter de Ferrers built
Whitborough Castle. He had three sons back then, and I’d love to meet all of them
before Cousin Rolf murdered them. What is your birth order?I’m not sure I understand the question. I almost answered Sagittarius
then it struck me you were asking about my family. I’m an only child, an orphan
now, and I still miss my mum.I was born fully human. Obviously I’m different now.Tell us about your favorite
toy as a child.I had this teddy but my dad through it out in a fit of temper.
I never really got attached to anything else. It hurt too much. I was the kid who
lived in the library and read every book they possessed.Describe your favorite
food and how it’s prepared.Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. A rare steak with a
mountain of freshly fried chips, fried onion rings and side salad sounds good too.Tell us about your best
friend.Blaxton de Ferrers. He’s my everything. We talk for hours and
never get bored. He was alone for centuries, but we’ve just discovered he has friends
in Zurich. I just love to see him smile. Oh, did I say he’s a billionaire property
developer with a philanthropic streak and a former Knight Defender?Buy This Book

I could read before I could walk – or so my mother says. I definitely
loved books, but at that stage I probably liked to look at the pictures. I do remember
a lovely old-fashioned library with parquet floors and filing cabinets with a card
index. I really loved that place.Jump forward to my adult years. Two children and happy marriage
later, my heart valve collapsed. After a terrible prognosis and an amazing surgeon,
I’m strong and tough again. However, it was time I reached for my dream and started
to write that book I’d been going on about.Fortunately Loose ID liked it. I’m grateful for their support.

Gage.Title: Vampire Territory 1: Drinking PartnersGenre: Urban Vampire RomanceAuthor: Allie RitchBook heat level (based on movie ratings): RBeing the master vampire for the Mid-Atlantic Territory is a
tough job. Between the Human Rebellion trying to kill him with poisonous suicide
donors and snobby born vampires bucking his authority, Lucas Thane has his hands

block. He finds both in the form of Alexandra Gage, the master of the territory
south of his.Alex could use a little help herself, but she has no intention
of letting Lucas take over. Turned into a vampire against her will, she has had

Name: Alexandra (Alex) GageAge: late 20’sGender: femaleBirthplace: the vampire-free states, USProfession: Master of the Southern TerritoryEthnicity/Species (if not human): vampireDescribe her body build, skin tone, height and weight. Include
any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Alex is average height
for a modern woman and athletically built. Her tan has faded and the highlights
in her dirty-blonde hair have darkened because she hasn’t been able to go out in
the sun since being turned into a vampire. While her blue eyes have stayed the same,
her strength, reflexes, and senses have all increased exponentially since she was
turned.Who is the significant other in your character’s life? Lucas
Thane. He’s her lover, her drinking partner (they exchange blood), and her political
partner, though she has to watch him closely to keep him from stealing her territory
out from under her.How does your heroine
dress?Soon after being turned into a vampire and taking over as master
of the Southern Territory, Alex starts wearing hoodies and jeans. For one thing,
she doesn’t have a lot of time to shop, what with other bloodsuckers trying to kill
her and take over power. For another, older vampires can be misogynistic bastards,
and she likes that many mistake her for a man. Rumor gets around that she’s a cowled
monk—some ancient vampire gone crazy—and she runs with the image. Lucas later upgrades
her to a full-length brown leather coat with a hood. Of course, her favorite accessories
are a semi-automatic pistol and a sword. What special skills does your character rely on? Alex relies
on her superior speed to defend her position as a master vampire and to kill male
vampires who are bigger and stronger. What does she have a knack
for doing? She has a definite knack for drama. There’s nothing like showing
off a severed head to your subjects to get them to fall in line.Does this character see morality as black-and-white, or with
shades of gray? If Alex didn’t see the world in shades of gray before, she certainly
does after being turned into the thing she hates most: a vampire. She has a strong
conscience, yet she’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect herself and those
closest to her.If someone from your character’s
past showed up, who would she most want it to be, and why? OR who would she most
NOT want it to be, and why?She would NOT want to see her family members. They assume she’s
dead, and she wants it to stay that way. She knows they couldn’t accept that she
now has fangs. What would help your character
face hardship and meet any challenge?Alex is tough and can handle a lot on her own, but meeting and
falling for Lucas gives her the extra strength she needs to tackle anything. She
trusts Lucas with her life and wants him as her partner in every way. But can she
trust the cunning vampire not to steal her territory? How does your character
express disappointment?Alex has one main rule for her vampire subjects: no harming the
humans or drinking from anyone who doesn’t volunteer. She tends to shoot anyone
who breaks this rule and disappoints her.You live in a violent
world. How did you find love under the circumstances? It was more like love found me. Lucas showed up on my doorstep
looking to do a little political maneuvering between master vampires. The sexual
attraction between us was instantaneous. Then I got to know him better, and I was
a goner, though real trust between us took a little longer. What’s it like making
love to another vampire?(Alex grins). There’s a lot of sucking involved. What is your philosophy
in life?I’m not really the philosophical type. I tend to focus on the
present, and at the moment my strategy is simple. Survive, squash my enemies, and
enjoy the pleasure I share with Lucas.About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.
To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four
of these questions. Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?I think Allie Ritch enjoys action scenes and was ready to write
a heroine who is a real warrior—one who doesn’t need a man but is certainly strong
enough to handle a master vampire, both inside and outside the bedroom. Was there anything your
writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you? Before I taught her about weaponry, Allie knew nothing about
guns. Zilch. She kept asking me where the safety was on my Glock and what a caliber
meant. It was embarrassing. Why do you think your
writer loves to write? She’s creative. I respect that. Maybe I’d do something more artistic
with my creativity if I weren’t busy fighting other bloodsuckers. Instead, I apply
my skills to building more innovative booby traps around my home. What do you wish your
writer would write next? The sequel to Drinking Partners. Allie has already drafted it,
and I’m glad. My story and the stories of the vampires with me are far from done.Is there anything you’d
like to say to your writer?Yeah. Did you have to let me get shot? I know I can handle it,
but bullet holes still freaking hurt! Then again, the multi-orgasmic sex with Lucas
is amazing, so I guess that makes things even.Author Bio
