Character Interview: Daisy and Dhruv @ElodieParkes #RLFblog #vampires

    A Little Mysterious
Elodie Parkes, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. Tell us
about your book, A little Mysterious.
    Book: A Little Mysterious
    Publisher: Evernight Publishing
    Genre: Vampire Romance
‘A Little Mysterious’ my November 27 release with Evernight Publishing
was inspired black swans and a man I met in my work. I say met, but it was a fleeting
meeting. I don’t even know his name. The black swan idea has been with me since
I went to Australia on holiday
and saw them, flocks of them swimming in the edge of the ocean in a place near Melbourne. There was also a
tame one that lived on the pond where I was renting a holiday house in Perth.
The man who inspired Dhruv, my alpha male in ‘A Little Mysterious’
came into the antique shop where I work. He was gorgeous, so polite, and cool, that
I went to the window so I could secretly watch him walk away down the street.
    A Little Mysterious
He’d been sent off course…he thought he was lost…until he found
    Daisy.
His vampire abilities were special. He belonged to an elite group.
Moving home, they are set off course by a storm that lands Dhruv alone, hungry,
and desperate in a strange town.
A story of lust, love, and coincidence.

    Interview with Dhruv and Daisy

    Daisy, would you like
to tell the readers about how you and Dhruv met?
Daisy: We met on the high street in the café I worked in didn’t
    we Dhruv?
Dhruv: We did formally meet then, although I took a while to
sat much to Daisy. I liked her as soon as I saw her. That was before we actually
met. I’d seen her around shall we say. I don’t want to give spoilers.
Daisy: That’s true, but I wanted you right away. I could hardly
take my eyes off you. When I went up the back of the café and cleared the tables,
I used to stare at you.
Dhruv: You did more than stare you sighed over me. I knew it.
I could sense it. I could feel your need and it fuelled mine.
He leans across and kisses Daisy, then keeps hold of her hand.
    Dhruv, Can you describe
when you first knew you were in love with Daisy?
Dhruv: You know, I’m sorry but I can’t. It was weird for me.
I couldn’t admit it to myself. I think Daisy loved me right away. Did you Daisy?
Daisy: I knew I wanted to make love with you, but I felt such
a strong attraction to you I think I might have loved you right away. Then I knew
the first time we made love, it was sex that turned into making love. For me anyway.
Although I liked him the moment I saw him, in the cafe doorway. I wanted those arms
    around me right away.
    She leans across and kisses
him this time .I better ask another question since now they are starting to get
    a little heated.
    What’s one thing you might
    have changed about your story?
Daisy: Nothing, since it’s the real story. Although I’ve never
been happy with my name, and that I’m not very tall, Dhruv can tuck me under his
arm. Although things are a little different now since we really got together, but
I can’t tell you that. It would be a spoiler.
Dhruv: That’s so sexy Daisy, that I can pick you up and cuddle
you into my body. You’re beautiful the way you are.
As for me changing the story, more sex, although there’s loads,
I’m addicted to Daisy now and I find it hard to keep my hands off her. I might have
said a little more about our lives after we got together, but that might be better
    in another book.
    Dhruv, tell us something
about Daisy, how would you describe her in a few words?
Dhruv: She’s very pretty, slender, intelligent. I think she’s
kind and generous, and she treats people really well. She’s brave too. She likes
the countryside and water. Starts to laugh and hugs Daisy.
    Daisy, describe Dhruv
    in a few words.
Very sexy, giving, clever, thoughtful, a great lover, knows what
he wants or needs to do and goes for it. He’s very creative, and talented artistically.
    So what’s hot about the
    story?
Dhruv: The steam rises from the love scenes. I think the way
    Daisy responds to me.
Daisy: I think it’s the way you talk dirty to me.
    Dhruv: Do I?

    Interview

Tell us about your story’s world. What is it like in this
    period or place?
Haven is set in present-day San Francisco, California,
with twists, of course. I maintained the basic geography and beauty of my hometown
and added new venues as needed, such as my heroine Carina’s dance club. I’ve preserved
the current cultural, societal and political norms of our reality and layered in
the “fantasy” via the paranormal inhabitants. Vampires hide in plain sight
and use their power to manipulate mainstream society and maintain their secrecy.
Many humans know of their existence but it’s a don’t-ask-don’t-tell situation. Unless
you want your mind/memory tweaked. Or your throat ripped out. The vamps are cranky
    like that.
Which character in your current book do you think readers
    will like the most? Why?
Jonas is my favorite and I suspect he’ll win over readers, too.
. An ancient vampire originally from England, Jonas embodies extreme violence
in a pretty package. He’s a man of few words, dark and moody, fiercely loyal and
violently protective of those few people he loves, such as Carina.
I adore Jonas so much I gave him his own story, a short story
prequel to HAVEN entitled “Vampire Code.” It released earlier this month
    from Champagne Books.
When you write, what things do you want close at hand? (Coffee,
water, chocolate… pictures of gorgeous hunks for inspiration…?)
    Water, laptop, music.
    What’s your writing schedule like?
A typical writing day looks something like this: Chauffeur child
to school, exercise, write, line edit and/or read slush pile for indie publisher,
pick up child, spend evening with family. Rinse, repeat.
    Any advice for new authors?
    Write every day.
What are you currently reading for fun? Anything for research?
For fun, I’m about to start J. R. Ward’s Lover At Last from my
    TBR pile.
What kind of music do you listen to while driving? Same question
    when writing?
Genre of music for both writing and driving depends on my mood.
For Haven, I listened to primarily House, Techno, Electro and Industrial music.
Haven’s playlist is on Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/user/1292279739/playlist/1TWos0QMsQe5QjUgl5xPQJ
Do you play any musical instruments?
    Piano
What do you wish I had asked you? Please ask and answer it
    now.
If you were given the opportunity to meet/have
lunch with/pick the brain of one writer in the world, who would it be? (In other
words, who makes your Fan Girl brain go *SQUEEE!!!*)
    Joss
    Whedon!
    Celia Breslin

    Please complete the sentence

I love pizza with fresh basil, feta and black olives
I’m always ready for fun with the family
    When I’m alone, I write
You’d never be able to tell, but I have a tattoo I designed
    myself
If I had a halo it would be a
chakram like that of Xena, Warrior Princess
If I could teleport I’d go to Scotland right now.
I can never eat pizza with fresh basic, feta and black olives
    because I’m allergic to dairy!

Paranormal: An Interview with Dracula by @traceyhkitts #RLFblog #vampires

    Dracula In the Flesh
    An Interview with Dracula
    By Tracey H. Kitts
As he walks into the room, I feel
my heart flutter and my breath catches in my throat. For a moment I am unable to
speak. I simply stare at him, taking in his beauty. He is everything I always imagined
he would be. He fills both the room and my senses. As he sits in the chair facing
me, I take a deep breath and try to steady my nerves.
    “Good evening, Vlad. I’ve waited
a long time to meet you, face to face.”
    “Good evening, Tracey.”
My name sounds strange falling from
his lips. His accent gives it an exotic sound.
“Are you ready for our interview?”
    I ask.
    “Please, proceed.”
I clear my throat, unsure of how exactly
I should go about this. Finally, I decide to just go for it.
“What is it like to be immortal?”
    I ask.
He sighs, as if he carries the weight
of the world. “I once thought it was a curse. To be immortal is to watch all
that you love fade away while you remain, unchanged.” He pauses. “No,
that is not true. You are changed, you only look the same.”
    “You mentioned looking the same.
    Do you have a reflection?”
His smile is sad. “Until I am
reunited with the other half of my soul, I shall have to take your word for how
    I look.”
He looks magnificent, but I don’t
say that. “Do you have any vulnerabilities?” I ask.
    “Sunlight weakens me, but it
does not kill me. All of my kind can be harmed by silver in particular.” He
moves forward in his chair. “Does it surprise you to know that I can be injured
    by most any weapon?”
“Actually, yes. So, you can be killed then?”
“Not easily, but yes. It is possible.”
“How did you become … what you
    are?”
He looks at the floor and for a moment
    I regret my question.
“My love was stolen from me.
I became cursed while trying to bring her back from the dead.”
“I’m sorry. If you had known
the consequences of your actions, would you have made the same choice?”
Once again his smile is bittersweet.
“There was never any other choice,” he says softly.
“There are so many rumors and
legends about you. Do you have any special powers or abilities?”
“I have power over the storm
and the beasts of the field. I can run with the wolves, float on the mists, and
    soar into the night sky.”
“That’s amazing. Why do you drink
    blood?”
“Because I gave every last drop
of mine in a ritual designed to bring my love back to me.”
“You mean Mina? You gave all
    your blood for her?”
“Yes. There is nothing I would
not give for her. I seek in death that which was taken from me in life.”
    “Have you ever considered walking
away and letting Mina have a normal life?” I ask, wondering if my final question
    is too personal.
He runs a hand through his dark hair
and sits back. “I have. I have wondered if I am being selfish, if she would
be better off not knowing. But then I remember what it felt like to hold her and
I cannot accept that this is true. I gave my blood and part of my immortal soul
so that she might live again. I plan to see this through, no matter the cost.”
Before I can apologize (because I’m
afraid I hurt him somehow) a shadow passes over the room. The candles flicker and
in an instant, he is gone.

    Blurb:

Jonathan Harker, a young English lawyer, is traveling to Castle
Dracula in order to finalize a real estate transaction. He has been personally requested
by Count Dracula. What Jonathan doesn’t realize is that Dracula’s interests do not
lie with him, but with his beautiful fiancée, Mina.
As soon as he saw her face, Dracula knew the ritual was a success.
After all these long years, his love has returned to him. However, many things (such
as Van Helsing and Jonathan Harker) stand in the way of their happiness. Sure, he
could kill them all and take what he wants. However, his greatest desire is not
to possess Mina, but to love her and have her return his love.
Therefore, Dracula’s fate and the fate of those closest to her
lie in Mina’s hands. She has dreamed of him all her life. But what will she do when
she learns her dark prince is real? What will happen when she knows him, not as
a dream, but in the flesh?
WARNING: This book contains graphic violence, and graphic sex.
This is NOT a romance novel, although there is a romance involved. This is Erotic
Horror and might offend some readers.
