QUICK
Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?…
Not really. I write Paranormal Romance but each of my books contains a mystery as well. I’m also excited to mention I have just finished my first cozy mystery. It will be a series of three.
How do you come up with ideas?…
Dreams, headlines, people watching or eavesdropping in a busy place, maybe a park, shopping mall, or a campground. Did I mention I have an overactive imagination, which helps with ideas. LOL
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
Why write Romance? For me crafting a romance is all about RESPECT, TRUST and LOVE with a bit of mystery, travel, and suspense sprinkled in. Most of my characters are of the paranormal persuasion. I try to create a memorable love story with spice and adventure. I want my characters to grab hold of your heart and hang on long after you’ve read the last word and closed the book with a satisfied sigh.
When did you write your first book?…
It was a vampire romance. I think I was around twelve or thirteen years old. I gave copies to all my friends. My mom was less than impressed.
FUN
Leather or lace? Leather
Black or red? Red
Satin sheets or smooth cotton? Satin Sheets
Ocean or mountains? Mountains
City life or country life? I’d like a combination of both.
Party life or evening at home? Evening at home
Dogs or cats? Dogs

Tena Stetler is a best-selling author of award winning paranormal romance novels. She has an over-active imagination, which led to writing her first vampire romance as a tween to the chagrin of her mother and delight of her friends.
With the Rocky Mountains outside her window, she sits at her computer surrounded by a wide array of paranormal creatures, with a Navy SEAL or two mixed in telling their tales. Her books tell stories of magical kick-ass women and strong mystical males that dare to love them. Travel, adventure and a bit of mystery flourish in her books along with a few companion animals to round out the tales.
Colorado is her home; shared with her husband of many moons, a brilliant Chow Chow, a spoiled parrot and a forty-five-year-old box turtle.

Lady Elizabeth Tyndale has endured a string of bad dates. When her brother and sister-in-law invite her to join them on a trip to San Diego, she reluctantly agrees. Besides, what does she have to lose? She’s certainly not burning up the dating scene in England.
Computer Programmer Jackson ‘Jack’ Stanfield doesn’t date much. He’d rather bury himself in code because computers are simple, but people are complicated. Yes. I write contemporary and regency romance under my pen name, Debra Elizabeth. I write epic fantasy with my brother under my real name, Debra L Martin.

Creating believable characters with real issues and how they deal with them.
When did you write your first book?…
My brother and I wrote our first book The Quest for Nobility in 2007 and it was published in 2010. While I was waiting for edits from Dave, I took a stab at writing romance with Love By Secrets that I published in 2011.

Read the new book The Turkish Affair by J Arlene Culiner @JArleneCuliner #RLFblog #RomanticSuspense
J Arlene Culiner, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.
Hello, Kayelle. Thanks for inviting me to be here, on your blog. The Turkish Affair takes place on an archaeological site in a dangerous part of Turkey.
When archaeologist Renaud Townsend discovers translator Anne Pierson wandering around the ancient Hittite site of Karakuyu outside of official hours, his interest is aroused. He likes the way she moves, the swing of her hair, and the tilt of her eyes. But priceless artifacts have been disappearing, and he knows he shouldn’t be attracted to a woman he knows nothing about.
Anne Pierson has been hiding her past for years, moving from one country to the next. Now settled in Turkey and working as a translator, she has given up dreams of romance — what man would be interested in a woman once notorious for her extra-marital affair with an embezzler? But after meeting Renaud Townsend, all thoughts of self-preservation vanish. Her fingers long to reach out, caress the hardness of his chest, and the lazy tones of his voice turn her butter soft.
But no matter how strong the attraction between Renaud and Anne, a short fling is out of the question. Here, in eastern Turkey, the police are corrupt, religion rules daily life, and Anne’s bad reputation can put them both in danger.
The Turkish Affair by J Arlene Culiner
Genre : Romantic Suspense
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): Sensual
Love and Danger at the ancient Hittite site of Karakuyu
Priceless artifacts are disappearing from the ancient Hittite site of Karakuyu in Turkey, and the site director has vanished. Called in to solve the mystery, archaeologist Renaud Townsend is hindered by both his inability to speak the language and the knowledge that the local police are corrupt. His attraction to translator Anne Pierson is immediate, although he is troubled by her refusal to talk about the past and her fear of public scandal. But when murder enters the picture, both Anne and Renaud realize that the risk of falling in love is not the only danger
QUICK
Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?…
I mainly write Small Town Romance and Romantic Suspense, but I also write unromantic mysteries, and non-fiction history and biography.
How do you come up with ideas?…
I’m often inspired by a view, but usually a story slowly takes shape in my mind, Most of the time, I have no idea where it comes from or when it will grow into a complete tale.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?…
The excitement of working on the second and third drafts, because I now refine the language, develop the characters, and enlarge the scenes. It’s the most interesting part of writing.
When did you write your first book?…
Like many writers, I wrote my first book when I was very young — perhaps fourteen or fifteen. I have no idea if it was any good, because my mother threw the manuscript in the garbage when I was away at summer camp.
FUN
Leather or lace? Definitely lace.
Black or red? Both are wonderful
Satin sheets or smooth cotton? If I have a choice, I’d prefer those heavy old linen sheets from a hundred years ago. They are collector’s items, and I have a whole stack of them. They are just wonderful to sleep in.
Ocean or mountains? Neither. Give me a flat plain or a desert, and I’m in seventh heaven.
City life or country life? Country life. I hate cities.
Party life or evening at home? An evening at home. At parties, I keep looking at my watch, wondering when I can leave.
Dogs or cats? Both, please.

Writer, photographer, social critical artist, musician, and occasional actress, J. Arlene Culiner, was born in New York and raised in Toronto. She has crossed much of Europe on foot, has lived in a Hungarian mud house, a Bavarian castle, a Turkish cave-dwelling, on a Dutch canal, and in a haunted house on the English moors. She now resides in a 400-year-old former inn in a French village of no interest and, much to local dismay, protects all creatures, especially spiders and snakes. She particularly enjoys incorporating into short stories, mysteries, narrative non-fiction, and romances, her experiences in out-of-the-way communities, and her conversations with strange characters.

I’m an Amazon and international bestselling novelist who writes passionate romance for every taste – ‘heat with heart’ – for traditional publishers and indie. Booklist, Publisher’s Weekly, Romantic Times and numerous online sites have praised my work. I’ve won Readers’ Choice Awards, was named a finalist in the EPIC competition, received a Book of the Year award, The Golden Nib Award, awards of merit in the RWA Holt Medallion competitions, and second place in the NEC RWA contests. I’m featured in the Novel and Short Story Writer’s Market. Before penning romances, I worked at a major Hollywood production company in Story Direction.
On a less serious note I’m an admitted and unrepentant chocoholic, brake for Mexican restaurants, and have been known to moan like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally while wolfing down tostadas. I’ve flown a single-engine airplane (freaking scary), rewired an old house using an ‘electricity for dummies’ book, and am horribly shy despite the hot romances I write.

Swan Malone never imagined leaving Sparrow, Texas, but when her college cheerleading gig leads to fame, and her first film becomes the top-grossing movie of the year, she realizes dreams really do come true. However, not everything in her life is as good as a fairytale.
Nothing could have prepared Army Sergeant Teague Shanahan for what he endured while held hostage in enemy hands. Battered and scarred, he returns home hoping to put his life back together but finds he’s still a prisoner of his past–too broken to be fixed, even by the woman he loves.

Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?
Contemporary romance and romantic mysteries with a kick of humor.
How do you come up with ideas?
Everywhere from something I hear in a doctor’s office to a picture on a magazine.
What is the single most important part of writing for you?
The expected answer here is editing. However, I think every part is equally important. Without an idea–no book. Without a plot–no story. Without a good cover, title, and opening line–no interest. Without a good story–no readers.
When did you write your first book?
I’m just getting started in the ‘sweet’ romance department. No Good Without You is my first book, which is a ‘cleaner, sweeter, version of Ann Everett’s steamy romances.
