Is It True: Master Me by Sayara St Clair @SayaraStClair #RLFblog #RomanceWelcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Let’s play Is It True with today’s guest, Sayara St Clair, author of Master Me, an erotic romance. This is a game with yes and no questions. Writers can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

Master Me by Sayara St Clair

    Genre: Erotic Romance, Contemporary Romance.
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Trixie Meier, a club submissive who’s tired of being pushed around, has decided she’d rather be on the other end of the whip. She’s set her sights on Xavier Adams—the most enigmatic and unapproachable man in the club. Xavier’s a regular Mr. Darcy. If Mr. Darcy was covered in tattoos, wore black leather, and was built like a Sherman tank.
Xavier has big secrets, and he keeps them behind an impenetrable wall of intimidation he employs to keep everyone at a healthy distance. Everyone but Trixie. The irrepressibly feisty sprite isn’t afraid to get all up in his face, in the worst and best ways. He’s convinced himself she’s far too sweet for the likes of him…just before he starts stalking her.
When he discovers Trixie doesn’t want to submit to him, but master him instead, Xavier’s sure it’s the most ridiculous thing he’s ever heard. A big, scary guy like him, submitting to what has to be the tiniest Mistress known to BDSM kind? Ludicrous.
But Trixie packs a lot of woman in a small package. And Xavier’s about to learn sometimes the old adage is true—the bigger you are, the harder you fall.

    Is it true:

    this is your first book?
No. This is actually the fourth book I’ve written.
this book is part of a series?
Yes. It’s the third book in my Dante’s Purgatory Series. I should point out that all my books may be read as standalone novels.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
Oh, yes. Much sleep was lost. My characters have this habit of waking me up at ungodly hours and hitting me with great dialogue. I keep a notepad and pen next to my bed in anticipation of their arrival.
you did research for this book?
Yes. I did a lot of research on the military. I can’t say much more because I don’t do spoilers.
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
My heroine, Trixie, volunteers at an animal shelter. So there are puppies. Lots of gorgeous puppies.
this book has more than one genre?
Yes. It’s contemporary romance and erotic romance.
you speak more than one language?
Kind of. I speak a little bit of Italian and a little bit of Thai. In both those languages I’m skilled at ordering food in restaurants. The rest? Not so much. At least I know when in Italy or Thailand, there’s no chance of me starving.
you grew up where you live now?
No. I grew up in Australia but I live in Thailand now.
    you love to read?
Yes, yes, yes. I am bookworm, hear me roar! Or rather, hear me be exceptionally silent while I have my bookwormy nose in a novel.
    you are never late?
On my own I am never late. When accompanied by my family, I am late for every single thing.
    you love pizza?
Yes. With pineapple. Don’t judge me.
    you love sushi?
    No.
    you have a pet?
Unfortunately, no. I used to have dogs when I lived in Australia. I decided against having dogs in Thailand due to my small garden, as well as the lack of good dog motels around here where I would need to keep them when I have to travel. I tried fish as pets. After losing one lot of koi due to a faulty pump that drained all the water out of the pond, and losing another lot due to a snake in the pond, I gave up that idea. More recently, my indoor fish tank cracked. Water gushed everywhere and there was a mad race to save the fish. This happened twice in the space of two weeks! And I’ve decided the universe is trying to tell me “No more fish.” I’ve listened to the universe and now I am petless.

If someone told a young Sayara St Clair that one day she would be an erotic/paranormal-romance-writing Aussie expat living in Thailand, she would have snort-laughed and yelled, “You. Be. Crazy!”
If someone told her the same thing now, she would not yell, only nod solemnly. Because that actually happened.
Sayara has a science degree, with majors in both microbiology and biochemistry. Working in the fields of serology and tissue banking, she got to do lots of cool and sometimes slightly weird stuff. She was employed as the manager/buyer for furniture retail stores, where she had a chance to unleash her inner interior decorator. (Interior design is one of her great passions.) And for a time, she taught English to students in Asia. (Hanging about in a roomful of extremely loud, pint-sized humans is not one of her great passions.) She has written: ads for TV, print and radio; real estate brochures; website copy; and a screenplay. Now she’s writing fiction and has discovered it’s her favorite thing to do. She’s also learned that writing sultry romances is so much more fun than writing dry old scientific journal articles. No one has sex in scientific journal articles. Not the ones she wrote anyway.
When not writing, she may be most commonly found in a horizontal position reading, in the kitchen baking, in the garden planting, or somewhere else singing at the top of her lungs. She loves music and is prone to spontaneous bouts of dancing.
With regards to vampires and chocolate: she bites one on a daily basis and has had a lifelong obsession with the other. And she’s not telling which one’s which.

Is It True: Dead Giveaway by Diane Benefiel @DianeBenefiel #RLFblog #RomanticSuspense

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Let’s play Is It True with today’s guest, Diane Benefiel, author of Dead Giveaway, a Romantic Suspense. This is a game with yes and no questions. Writers can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

    Dead Giveaway by Diane Benefiel

    Genre Romantic Suspense
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
    The Worst that Can Happen
If asked, Gwendolyn Ballard would admit she co-parented her best friend Chloe’s son, Cameron. Now Gwen is all he’s got as they flee from the man who murdered his mother. There’s only one place Cameron will be safe, and that’s with his uncle, Elijah MacElvoy. Arriving on his doorstep at the Broken Arrow Ranch is a desperate decision, and Gwen knows he’d slam the door in her face if she didn’t have his nephew with her. But she’ll do anything for Cam, even if it means putting up with Elijah’s distrust and judgment.
Chloe’s dead. Cam’s orphaned, and Elijah is confronted with the prospect of living with the one woman who’s driven him crazy for the past ten years. He’ll fight to keep her safe. That’s encoded in his DNA. But can he trust her with a little boy who just lost his mother?
As Eli watches how Gwen loves and cares for his nephew, he reevaluates his thinking and gives in to the smoldering attraction he felt the first time he saw her. With so much on the line, Eli comes clean about his past, making way for a future that’s all about silver linings.

    Is it true:

    this is your first book?
No, I have three books published previously. Readers might be interested in Solitary Man, which won the National Readers’ Choice Award for Romantic Suspense last year.
this book is part of a series?
Yes! Dead Giveaway is Book 2 in the High Sierras series.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
No, not really. I actually find writing relaxing and enjoyable.
you did research for this book?
Yes. I am always looking up facts on the internet. The police would find my search history very alarming. Here’s just some of what I’ve looked up: the cost of a hitman, clip capacity for a .45, how to remove bloodstains from wood, great white shark attacks in Puget Sound.
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
Yes. I love dogs, so my characters usually have dogs. In Dead Giveaway, Elijah raises quarter horses on his ranch, so I have horses as characters for the first time.
this book has more than one genre?
Yes. Dead Giveaway is a romantic suspense, but also a western romance.
you speak more than one language?
No, not really. I’ve taken Spanish and French, for all the good it’s done me. On a trip to Paris, it was humiliating that after two years of French I couldn’t make myself understood. C’est la vie.
you grew up where you live now?
Yes, at least in the same area. I work in the city I was born in, which is only ten miles from where I currently live.
    you love to read?
Yes, yes, yes! Reading is a life-long passion. I’d rather read than watch a movie, go to a party, or just about anything else. I’m always looking for new authors.
    you are never late?
No, but I’m mostly on time.
    you love pizza?
Yes, if it’s vegetarian, with pesto instead of red sauce, and thin crust. Which is the exact opposite of the type my husband likes.
    you love sushi?
No! I’ve had friends who have insisted on taking me to their favorite sushi place, because I must have tried it at a not-good sushi place. It’s still cold, squishy, and gross.
    you have a pet?
No, sadly. 2016 was a horrible year because our beautiful dog died, and our three elderly cats died as well. We have a little pet cemetery in the back yard (we have a huge yard). But today, hubby and I visited a rescue shelter in a quest for our new dog.

First, tell us about your book.
Constance Owens has a gift for finding unique items in the most unlikely places, which comes in handy since she buys and sells artifacts and antiques for a living. When she purchases a set of four dragon statues, she has no idea just how unique they are, or that finding them will thrust her into a world of secret societies, men who think nothing of kidnapping and murder to get what they want, and dragon shifters.
Nic hasn’t survived for four thousand years by letting his guard down, and he doesn’t trust anyone except his drakon brothers. The loneliness haunting him has been getting worse since all his brothers have found their mates. And when he finds the woman his drakon recognizes instantly as his fated mate, he doubts he’ll ever have what his brothers have, because it seems she’s involved with the secret society of hunters who have been hunting and capturing his kind for hundreds of years.

NJ Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.
