Back To The One I Love by Cornelia Amiri

Genre Comedy Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

The thrilling adventure of first love and self-discovery is just as groovy the second time around. A free-spirited, baby boomer couple, Cash and Keith, find their marriage of forty-five years unraveling amid apathy, boredom, and retirement. Cash feels Keith is no longer attracted to her and he’s consumed with a couch-potato life of streaming The Orville and Game of Throne episodes all day long. Trying to hang on to their marriage and rekindle the romance they lost along the way they turn to a counselor. The therapist uses an unorthodox magical method of a time-traveling Volkswagen van to cast them back into the garden…four days of Eden at Woodstock….the epic music festival… where they first fell in love.
Will the freedom of Woodstock lure Keith and Cash to push their individual boundaries and seek new lovers? Or can Déjà Vu and grooving to music….truly lead them to rediscover the peace, love, and harmony they once shared?

What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?

Either fried chicken or barbeque chicken with potato salad and peach cobbler.

What is your go-to meal when you dine out?

It’s a toss-up between spaghetti and meatballs or shrimp—fried or shrimp scampi.

Describe the perfect vacation.

I’d love a vacation to Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and the Isle of Man

Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.

I loved playing with barbie dolls. I think my fiction writing skills began then especially with dialogue as I had them all talking to each other. I had a couple of barbies, a Ken, a Midge, a Skipper, and a Tutit but I also included my brother’s GI Joe and a small Madam Alexander Doll—I can’t remember who she was, but she had a pink checkered shirt and blue overalls. She was my favorite.

What are your hobbies?

I love to read, of course. I love to hang out with my son and granddaughter. I love researching history. I love listening to Celtic music and 60/70’s folk and rock. I like watching TV and my streaming obsession right now is The Handmaid’s Tale.

Read To Dance With A Lord, a Regency romance by Gina Danna @GinaDanna1 #RLFblog #RegencyRomanceGina Danna, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

To Dance With A Lord by Gina Danna

Genre Regency Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Gerard Jennings had done his duty for God and Country and returned to England to assume a title he had never wanted nor deserved. Sweat and blood were not all he left behind in war-torn France, he’d also left his heart with the woman he’d loved and lost. Forced into a society that no longer fits the man he’s become, the new Marquis of Linnwood drifts through a sea of debutantes to fulfill the family obligation of finding a wife. None attract his attention until he meets the one who tugs at his reluctant heart – Lady Charlotte.
A runaway pup, a damsel in distress, Lady Charlotte is rescued by Lord Linnwood only to have her reputation ripped to shreds by petty gossip. Her fiance withdraws his proposal, leaving Charlotte forever ruined. The dashing Marquis again comes to her aid by making her his wife.
Though deeply in love with her husband, Charlotte can’t bridge the distance between them and spends night after night alone. His haunted past shadows their lives and she must find a way to not only dispel his ghosts but ease his grieving heart. Will it be enough to also save his tortured soul?
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
My favorite down-home family style meal is pasta – in almost every form! Latest cravings lean towards tortellini with red sauce. Yum!!
Describe the perfect vacation.
Perfect vacation – The beach! Or historical area (thinking Civil War battlefields and towns). Or Italy – which I’m finally going to this fall!!!! Childhood dream come true!!! For all 3, I want warm, sunny weather and a place to lose myself, so to speak.
Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.
My favorite toy was probably my model horses. Have a slew of Breyer horses. Made them into a herd and they got married and had babies (foals). I’m a total horse lover!!
What are your hobbies?
Hobbies? Besides working out, I love to do living history. I’m a Civil War reenactor and have also dabbled in Early 19th century (reliving part of the Lewis & Clark Corp of Discovery 1803) and World War II. My Civil War wardrobe is a bit large, so to speak, but I love the era!
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
I tend to research a lot. This book I just released is a Regency romance, but I also write Historical Fiction with a romance. For that, I have two series – 1 in Ancient Rome (The Gladiators series) and the other is the American Civil War. The Civil War series requires quite a bit more research, because I need it to be accurate in all of it, with a biography, which I include at the end. I tend to get lost in the research sometimes….

Read Sensual Stranger by Tina Donahue @tinadonahue #RLFblog #contemporaryTina, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

Sensual Stranger by Tina Donahue

Genre: Erotic Contemporary
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Into his life she came—wanting…willing…wanton.
It’s no ordinary morning when Toni Starr arrives at Zach’s garage. Flat broke, with a past she won’t share, Toni’s instantly taken by such a potently virile man. Direct and unashamed, she tells him she’s a motorcycle performance artist who needs work and knows motors.
Zach knows women, and Toni’s unlike any he’s met. Lushly sensuous, exceedingly assured, she’d easily be his match in business and bed. A provocative challenge that stirs him as nothing has since losing his wife. A chance he’s reluctant to take, offering no more than a month’s employment, then she’ll have to be on her way.
The hours tick by. Each word and glance intensifies their denied yet escalating desire, forcing them to surrender to passion. Driven by carnal hunger, conquered by yearning, they face the unforeseen truth of Toni’s past and a future neither of them expected.
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
Without question, roasted turkey and gravy, steamed red potatoes, corn, and a huge salad with ranch dressing.
What is your go-to meal when you dine out?
Mexican, Mexican, Mexican. I could eat it 365 days a year.
Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.
Not a toy, but crafts. I loved anything that had to be put together, created, or built. I worked for hours or days trying to get everything just so. I was never satisfied until I made the craft look different—and better—than the picture on the box.
When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?
Those with gripping themes, such as The Handmaid’s Tale, the Millennium Trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, and The Girl Who Played with Fire), The Lovely Bones. When I read, I want to feel. To be happy, cry, get angry…
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
Anything I can find on the net regarding the theme, locale, or the characters’ occupations. For example, in Sensual Stranger, Toni is a motorcycle performance artist. An unusual occupation for a woman. I scoured news stories to learn about women in the field and the dangers they faced from performing. Fascinating stuff.

The Phoenix Rising series by Alexandra Christian @lexxxchristian #RLFblog #SciFi #romanceAlexandra Christian, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

The Phoenix Rising series by Alexandra Christian

Genre Sci-fi Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Librarian Phoebe Addison has lived her entire life within a seventy-five mile radius of her small Louisiana town, but when she receives a strange medallion from her adventurous, off-world sister, reality tilts toward the bizarre. Everything Phoe thought she knew is…well, wrong. Dead wrong. But bone-numbing fear has no place in this brave new world—nor by the side of the dangerous, exquisite man who saves her life.
Following the tragic slaughter of his family, operative Macijah “Cage” St. John understands evil in a way no man ever should. He traded happiness for a magnificent and terrible power, and fate isn’t done with him yet. He wasn’t looking for comfort. He didn’t need tenderness. But today he’ll play hero to a damsel in distress, and his quest will deliver him to the uncanny Martian colony of New London—and his heart to the demure Phoebe Addison. The bookish beauty’s hidden talents and deep abiding love just might save Cage from himself.
Who is your “book boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
I’m particularly fond of Lestat Pointedulac from Anne Rice’s vampire chronicles. He’s arrogant, beautiful, and the perfect alpha hero. He never apologizes for who he is and that’s so seductive to me.
Describe the perfect vacation.
My perfect vacation destination is a wide, sandy beach. Warm water, warm winds, and a cold drink at my side while I watch the waves and get lost in a great book.
When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?
My preferences differ with the mood I’m in. Right now, I’m working my way through Nora Roberts’s standalone romantic suspense books. I just can’t get enough of them. I’m also a Stephen King horror junkie.
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
Wikipedia is my friend. Right now I’m working on a Victorian paranormal murder mystery involving postmortem photography and corpse medicine. My husband is also a librarian and loves to bring me home lots of books on whatever subjects I throw at him.
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Cage St. John’s ringtone would definitely be the James Bond theme.

Thank you for hosting me today, Kayelle.
Karri Taylor needed to get out of California and away from her ex-boyfriend. She couldn’t think of a better time than now to visit the Kentucky farm she inherited from her great-aunt.
Jake Duncan is the definition of a perfect southern gentleman and it doesn’t take long for Karri take an interest. From helping him nurse his sick horse back to health to meeting the neighbors, she develops an affection for both Jake and the many attributes of the Bluegrass State.
Her plan was to sell the farm and head back home. But, when a blizzard hits, the plan changes. She’s stranded at the farmhouse until Jake comes to the rescue. With the lack of enough food and discovering the generator stolen, the only thing she can do is accept Jake’s offer to stay with him until power is restored.
During her time with Jake, she learns that a big company is trying to buy all the farms in the area, against the wishes of the neighbors. She’s torn between selling her farm and go back home where she owns a business, or stay in Kentucky and start all over.
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
As an adult, it’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and biscuits with butter. Believe it or not, as a child I loved salmon patties, fried potatoes, and cream corn. I have to say that my mother made the best fried potatoes.

What are your hobbies?
I love to go camping. We graduated up from a tent and bought a camper. I’m looking forward to trying it out this summer. During the winter, I love to watch NFL football. I also love to watch old movies, which makes me sit on the couch way too much. I also love photography.
When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?
I love to read crime mysteries. I love James Patterson and Robert B. Parker books, but I’m always looking for new mystery authors to read.
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
I mostly do research online and read web sites from locations that I want to use in my book. I also use sites to research names and sometimes crimes. I do have a couple books on forensics and on weapons that I refer to often during my writing.
