Stressing the Hero from Deceit and Devotion historical interracial #romance @FayeHall79 #RLFblog

Today’s featured book is Deceit and Devotion by Faye Hall.

    Author Bio

Murder, lies, deception, and love set in the outback under the Australian sun.
These are the stories of Faye Hall.
Her passion driven, mystery filled books are set in North Queensland, Australia during the development of the townships at the end of the 19th century.
Each of her novels bring something symbolically Australian to her readers, from Aboriginal herbal remedies, to certain gemstones naturally only found in this part of the world.
Each of her books tell of a passionate connection between the hero and heroine, surrounded and threatened by deceit, scandal, theft and sometimes even murder.
These romances swerve from the traditional romances as Faye aims to give her readers so much more intrigue, whilst also revealing the hidden histories of rural townships of North Queensland.
Faye finds her inspiration from the histories of not only the township she grew up in, but the many surrounding it. She also bases most of her characters on her own ancestors and their adventures when first migrating to Australia.
Faye was able to live her own passion driven romance, marrying the love of her life after a whirlwind romance in 2013. Together they are raising their 9 children in a remote country town in northern Queensland, Australia.

Genre Historical romance / Interracial romance

“I will pay you to sleep with my wife.”
Jarrah Miyan, a young half-caste aboriginal man, is supposed to seduce a white woman into an affair so her greed-driven husband can gain full control of her inheritance, including the rare collection of black opals she keeps under lock and key. When he walks into the study to meet the poor chit he’s to take advantage of, he expects to find an aging woman who smells of stale perfume and gin. Who he finds though is the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on—the same woman whose pale thighs had been wrapped around him just a few hours earlier as she’d begged him to give her pleasure.
After their night of passion together, Emily Holtz doubted she would ever see Jarrah again. To have him standing before her now, asking for employment at her cattle station, was not a situation she had prepared herself for. She agrees to hire him on one condition. He has to spy on her husband and get her the incriminating evidence she needs to apply for a divorce. She’s spent years in a miserable arranged marriage, and she’s desperate to escape. But her husband is a dangerous man, and he will stop at nothing, including murder, to get what he wants.
As they begin to develop feelings for each other, Jarrah worries about what will happen when Emily discovers that he’s been working for both her and her husband. Not that they could ever really be together, as society would never accept that.
Content Warning: contains sex, strong language, and some violence.

    Stressing The Hero

Every hero has a story. He has a background, a history, and a past. This interview allows us to meet a hero and get to know him better, by focusing on how he handles being relaxed, as well as how he handles stress.

    The Hero’s Relaxed Side

This hero is at a party. Considering his story, describe the party.
Jarrah would be being paid to attend and serve the wealthy guests alcohol.  He would also be required to ensure no fights broke out amongst the drinking guests.
How does the hero feel about being this particular party, and what body language is he displaying that gives it away?
Jarrah would be constantly on guard, knowing that he needed to remember his place as a worker.  He keeps his eyes lowered, knowing better than to try and look any guest in the eye.  His answers to any questions would be short and soft.
Is he more likely to mingle or remain aloof?
Jarrah would be forced to mingle but would take any opportunity to escape.
If he drinks, what is his drink of choice at this party?
    Jarrah isn’t allowed to drink.
How much drink is his usual?
    Jarrah isn’t allowed to drink.
The hero figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
Jarrah would be more inclined to want to hide, however he would welcome the chance to avoid his employer.
Is he likely to latch onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is he the friend that others latch onto?
If Emily Holtz was at the party then Jarrah would stay as close to her side as was possible, ignoring any others that were there.
If someone picked a fight at this party, how is the hero going to handle it?
It would be Jarrah’s job to break up the fight, but he wouldn’t willingly get involved.
Is the hero the one most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?
As a half-caste aboriginal man, Jarrah wouldn’t be allowed to lay his hands on any wealthy white guest.  If he did then he would be tossed out on his ear or worse.
Will he know when to leave, or stay late and make a nuisance of himself?
Jarrah would know when to leave.

    The Hero’s Stressed Out Side

How does the hero handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls him aside when he was blameless in a situation?
Jarrah automatically tenses, knowing that he made an easy scapegoat for anyone making trouble.
How does the hero react to hearing a scream?
It fills him with dread, and Jarrah would automatically go and investigate.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing that crosses his mind?
If it were men fighting, Jarrah would instantly think they were fighting over a woman and he shouldn’t interfere.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing he does?
Jarrah would try to rescue them, though he would have to be mindful not to become involved.
This hero attempts to rescue someone and realizes that he is in over his head. The odds are against him and there is no way out. He is going to get his butt handed to him. What does he do?
Jarrah would struggle to get the better of his opponent until he could make some kind of escape.
The hero runs into the one person from his past he wanted to avoid. He can’t get out of the situation and must interact with him/her in some way. What does he do?
He keeps his answers short and cold.  He doesn’t want to get involved.
Someone younger than the hero is in charge of the situation, and they are handling it badly, perhaps bungling things. How does the hero deal with it?
Carefully make suggestions to make the other person think they were his idea until the matter improves.
The hero is in physical pain but must bear up under it and keep going. What does he tell himself in order to get through the situation?
Jarrah would remind himself that he was doing this for Emily, the lady he loves, and that he must survive and return to her to ensure her safety incase her husband tried to find her.
What mentor’s words come to mind in a bad situation? When Emily left her husband for Jarrah, she told him that she never saw his color; only him.  He remembered this in hoped that there were others who could look at him the same.
What lesson from his past gets him through a stressful situation?
Jarrah learnt from an early age to depend on no one other than himself.  In a stressful situation he would fall back on his wits and independence until the situation improved.

Stressing the Hero from Dating an Alien Pop Star #scifiromance by @kendrybird #RLFblog

Stressing the Hero from Dating an Alien Pop Star by Kendra L. Saunders.

    Author Bio

Kendra L. Saunders is a time-and-space traveling fashionista author who writes books about magical, dark-haired men, interviews famous people, and suggests way too many bands to you via whatever social media platform she can get her hands on. She writes with good humor, because humor is the best weapon for a girl who can’t learn karate (or ballroom dancing).

    About the Book

Title: Dating an Alien Pop Star
    Genre: Scifi Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
Daisy Kirkwood has only just escaped her small-town life and run away to New York City, the land of last-minute secret gigs at famous musical venues, when she’s kidnapped by aliens. Unfortunately, no one ever writes about how to handle alien abduction in those fancy NYC guidebooks.
Griffin and Dev are supermassively sexy aliens from a politically and environmentally troubled planet who arrive on Earth with very little knowledge about human ways other than what they learned from a wayward E! News signal. Their mission is to pretend to be the most influential people on the planet—English pop stars, of course!—and gain the help of a powerful secret society. Upon arriving, they abduct Daisy Kirkwood, a nerdy young woman who loves music but could seriously use a bit of help in the love-life department. Though Griffin and Daisy initially squabble, neither can deny the intergalactic sparks whenever they’re too close to each other. Together, they must face murderous aliens, cultural misunderstandings, bad backup musicians, and the dark side of fame and the media, all set against a tight deadline…
Part High Fidelity, part Bridget Jones’ Diary, part Doctor Who, Dating an Alien Pop Star is a sexy romantic comedy.

Griffin goes to many parties, because of being a famous pop star when he’s here on Earth, so I can definitely imagine him at a posh afterparty for some kind of music awards! It would be dimly-lit, well catered, packed with booze, and very, very lush and luxurious.
How does the hero feel about being this particular party, and what body language is he displaying that gives it away?
Excited to be in a room with famous faces he recognizes from his time studying Earth’s culture. A little nervous. Probably a little drunk. He would be twitchy and fluttery, but definitely smiling. And trying to watch what everyone is doing, so he doesn’t miss anything!
Is he more likely to mingle or remain aloof?
Mingle, for sure. In fact, he’d want to be the life of the party.
If he drinks, what is his drink of choice at this party?
Champagne. He loves champagne, and never realizes how much is too much until it’s too late.
How much drink is his usual?
Two glasses, at which time he’s buzzed and flushed, and probably giggly.
The hero figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
Griffin would want to drag his best friend Dev out into the party. Dev is a bit more reserved in groups of strangers, so he’d probably sit out most of the craziness. Griffin would want to make him join the fun!
Is he likely to latch onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is he the friend that others latch onto?
Griffin usually latches onto one person, namely his best friend Dev, but he would still be able to pay plenty of attention to any and everyone around him. He has a capacity for paying attention to many people at once, even while holding Dev close like a safety blanket.
If someone picked a fight at this party, how is the hero going to handle it?
Griffin would most likely step in if he saw something happen that he deemed unjust or unfair. He’s empathetic and has a strong sense of morals when it comes to people getting bullied or mistreated, and he isn’t afraid to use his alien “powers” on Earth people if needed.
Is the hero the one most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?
Griffin wouldn’t toss anyone out of a party, but here on Earth, he wouldn’t be tossed out either. He’s too famous for that. But on some other planet? He’s been tossed out of a few places, sure…
Will he know when to leave, or stay late and make a nuisance of himself?
Griffin will leave whenever he damn well pleases. He’s a pop star, thank you very much, so his timing is always perfect.

    The Hero’s Stressed Out Side

How does the hero handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls him aside when he was blameless in a situation?
Griffin was raised as a prince on his home planet, and many times over his life, he’s been in danger. His first reaction to an authority pulling him aside is to believe that they are protecting him. If, however, he found out that he was being blamed for something he didn’t do, on Earth, he would remind the police that he is a famous pop star and insist on being released immediately.
How does the hero react to hearing a scream?
Griffin would perk up if he thought someone was in danger. He has empathetic healing abilities, so he reacts strongly to someone who is in pain or in need of help.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing that crosses his mind?
“How can I help this person?”
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing he does?
Runs right into the fray, potentially getting himself in a dangerous situation, given he is slender and on the petite size, and not much help in a physical fight.
This hero attempts to rescue someone and realizes that he is in over his head. The odds are against him and there is no way out. He is going to get his butt handed to him. What does he do?
Gathers all of his energy together and focuses it on one last burst of power… this will either get him out of trouble or cause him to self destruct, but either way, it should stop the bad guy.
The hero runs into the one person from his past he wanted to avoid. He can’t get out of the situation and must interact with him/her in some way. What does he do?
Confronts them before they can say anything, and tries to act as brave and confident as possible. He probably fails.
Someone younger than the hero is in charge of the situation, and they are handling it badly, perhaps bungling things. How does the hero deal with it?
Griffin wouldn’t pay much attention to age in a situation like that. If someone is doing a bad job, he would try to step in and help, regardless of their age. He is not an alpha male, though, so his version of stepping in would involve suggestions and offers to help, rather than forcing his way in.
The hero is in physical pain but must bear up under it and keep going. What does he tell himself in order to get through the situation?
Griffin would remind himself of the people he loves most, and how much they need him. He would also think of his mother, who he lost as a child, and what would make her most proud of him to do.
What mentor’s words come to mind in a bad situation?
“There is always kindness. You can always find strength in kindness,” Griffin’s mother’s words.
What lesson from his past gets him through a stressful situation?
Griffin remembers that his Mum had grace and dignity in the face of challenges, and he strives to be like her when he faces similar situations.

Zoe Sinclair from Coming Home by @RebeccaBarber7 #RLFblog #contemporary #romance

Zoe Sinclair from Coming Home by Rebecca Barber7.

    Interview with Zoe Sinclair

This interview is designed for your hero or heroine to tell readers about himself or herself. Answer the questions as if the character were talking.
    Tell us about yourself, please.
I’m no one special. My name is Zoe Sinclair and I live in Melbourne Australia. I grew up in a small town hours from here. My parents died when I was younger and now I’m all alone. The moment I graduated high school I left town and didn’t look back. I couldn’t. But leaving also meant I left my shattered heart in the hands of the boy I’d always loved, Spencer. I’ve lied to everyone. Any excuse to avoid going back there and facing what I know is waiting for me is just too hard. So I lie. Until now. This time I decided to go back and face the music. I don’t know why, but it just felt like it was time.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
My biggest inner doubt is that I’m worth it. I don’t think I’m worthy of someone like Spencer’s faith in my and his unwavering love. I’m damaged. I’m broken. The shell of woman. I find it incredibly hard to believe I deserve good things after going through so much.
Tell us about your significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Spencer McLaren is everything. I’ve known him my whole life. I married him when I was four and he gave me a daisy chain necklace. He is the most frustrating, annoying, compassionate guy in the world. He does have a bit of a hero complex, but because of the way his ass looks in those jeans he wears everywhere, you tend to forgive him for that one. At 17 I knew he was it for me. No other guy could or ever would measure up to him. I looked, I really did, but no one was anywhere near as perfect for me as Spencer.
What would that person say about you?
Spencer would probably say I’m the most frustratingly stubborn pain in the ass woman he’s ever me. He loves me anyway though sometimes he forgets J He’d call me Pippi and tug on my hair, like he used to when he was five. He’d bitch and moan about my lack of care when it comes to looking after myself and he’d tell you that sometimes I’m moody and he has no idea why. But he’d tell you I was his best friend in the world and he always knew, despite everything else, we’d figure it out one day.
    What is your family like?
I don’t have a family. I was an only child and my parents both died when I was way too young to say goodbye to them. Spencer’s mother Jenna became the closest thing I had to family. She loved me like I was her own. She’s my family now.
Why are you happy (or not happy) with the way your story ended?
I am absolutely devastated with how my story ended. I think the author actually hates me and did it to torture me. Although she promises all will be made up for before the series ends.

    About the Writer

Rebecca, one of four kids to her parents who are both primary school teachers, was born in Wollongong on the south coast of Australia before moving to the country with her family. After a few years of embracing all that country life had to offer, the family relocated to Port Macquarie with its white sand beaches. After a brief period enjoying the sun and the surf they finally settled in Canberra where Rebecca still lives today. But all through her childhood a notepad and a book where never far away. These days Rebecca is an avid reader, and when she isn’t buried in a book or cheering on her beloved football team she’s spending time with her husband Robert and their overly spoilt dog Levi.
What was your biggest challenge in writing this book?
Letting Spencer and Zoe go. This was so hard in fact I didn’t really let them go off into the sunset in peace. Instead I wrote book 2 and 3 just so I didn’t have to say goodbye just yet.
When writing the book, what did you discover about this character that surprised you?
When I wrote Coming Home I was shocked by how completely emotionally draining this one was. It tore my heart to shreds and made me have more than one ugly cry moment. Even though I was the one who’d done it, I couldn’t stop it. The characters ran away with the story and I was merely a passenger.
Are any sequels planned for this book?
Absolutely! Book 2 and 3 are already written and will be released in 2017.
Why should readers who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?
It’s full of real emotion. Good, bad and devastating. It’s not your typical friends to lovers type book, its real.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers?
I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart apologize for the ending. My sister is still made about that 18 months after reading it for the first time. I promise, if you stick with the series I will redeem myself.

Stressing Cass McKay from Undone a #Contemporary RS by @LiviaQuinn #RLFblog

Stressing Cass McKay from Undone by Livia Quinn.

    Author Bio

Livia Quinn is a DC native who lives on the bayou in Louisiana. She met her hero, Cass McKay, while listening to Jesse Cook’s “Breathing Below Surface” and Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me if You Don’t”. When I turned down a narrow street there he was, in the flesh leaning against the wall of Elektra’s shop (well, a store on the corner on my route, actually but still,) all tawny and golden, asking for my help to get his woman back. I could tell he was desperate so… what else could I do? Undone was born.

    About the Book

Title Undone (A Sexy Romantic Adventure)
    Genre Contemporary Romance
    Author Livia Quinn
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
When Aussie gem hunter Cass McKay appears unexpectedly on Elektra’s design shop doorway, her reasons for sending him away a year ago suddenly seem…complicated, their passion for each other and the secret, intricately entwined.
One year ago on the eve of Carnival, Elektra broke their engagement after the “Blood” opal was stolen. No one steals from Cass, especially not when it cost him the woman he loved.
Elektra’s reason for breaking their engagement has now come back to bite her. Cass intends to return to Brazil, putting himself in danger to retrieve her opal, in hopes that Elektra will give their relationship another chance.
Staying out of Cass’ bed isn’t an option if she’s going to keep him safe, but coming clean might make things worse. Elektra is walking a tightrope between desire and deceit, and the truth will endanger not only their love, but their lives.

A pleasant crowd of friends and family, couples sharing good food, drink and dancing to the Latin beats, from the slow sultry rumba and tango to the lively salsa
How does the hero feel about being at this particular party, and what body language is he displaying that gives it away?
He loves these people and especially the woman he hasn’t seen in a year. He’s banking on the atmosphere and the music to draw her in. He cues the music and begins to dance, his hips and eyes telling her the slow deliberate steps of their favorite dance how he feels.
Is he more likely to mingle or remain aloof?
Oh, Cass is a mingler, an extrovert who is well-liked and at home in two countries, Brazil and Australia. He tries to remain aloof with Elektra but the beat of the music is making him crazy. Hopefully, she’s not unaffected.
If he drinks, what is his drink of choice at this party?
Cass isn’t one to over indulge. But tonight he’s intoxicated by her presence and he goes a bit too far.
The hero figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
When Elektra runs in the heat of the dance, he knows where to find her. And there’s hell to pay. He’s determined to make her admit her feelings but she’s well aware of the cost of giving in after all this time.

    The Hero’s Stressed Out Side

How does the hero handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls him aside when he was blameless in a situation?
Cass is an even-tempered guy who has no trouble talking his way in or out of situations.
How does the hero react to hearing a scream?
Well, like a hero. He would act before considering the danger to himself.
What does he tell himself in order to get through the situation?
If he can get the opal back and Elektra back in his arms, his world will be right again.

Meet Lady Larkin Rosham aka Liar Larkin from The Herald’s Heart by Rue Allyn.

    Author Bio

Historical romance author Rue Allyn lives in southeast Michigan with the love of her life and one tyrannical cat, where she works daily on making Happy Ever After come true.

    About the Book

    Title The Herald’s Heart
    Genre Medieval Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Royal herald, Sir Talon Quereste could never love an overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative woman of dubious background who threatens everything he values. Lady Larkin Rosham can only despise a man who would deny her identity and steal her heritage. So why has fate thrown them together to solve the mysteries of the heart?

Introducing Lady Larkin Rosham aka Liar Larkin

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
Name: Lady Larkin Rosham aka Liar Larkin
    Age:  Twenty three
    Gender:  Female
Birthplace:  Rosham Castle, on the coast of Northumbria
    Profession:  Carter
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
I am of medium height with a slim build. As for the rest, Sir Talon Quereste describes me this way: “She possessed the most beautiful face he’d ever seen. A delicate nose flared in a perfect oval framed with fiery red tresses. Long, dark lashes fluttered over bright, exotically tilted blue eyes. A berry-red mouth formed an O. Ivory satin skin pinked over high cheekbones.
Who is the significant other in your life?
I was married by proxy to the Earl of Hawksedge, Sir Talon’s father, but murder prevented me from every truly becoming the Earl’s wife. Now that I’ve met the son, I can honestly say he fascinates me. However, I have my doubts that he is truly the man for me.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a fairly simple woman, thrust into extraordinary circumstances when my family was murdered by the man I was to marry. I suffered from what is now called hysterical muteness for seven years. When I finally regained my voice no one would believe me when I told them I was Lady Larkin Rosham, Countess Hawksedge. Instead they proclaimed me Liar Larkin for telling a truth that the murdering Earl of Hawksedge did not want to hear.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
There was a time when you would not have been able to hear my voice. Now, I would say that my defining characteristic would be clarity. My voice is a very clear alto and quite soothing when I am not compelled to shout.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
I’ve been living hand to mouth, since I left the abbey where I took shelter during my mute years. The abbess was kind enough to help me find a hut to call home and gave me a cart and horse to use in making a living by running errands for the folk of Hawkingsedge.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
That I may never be able to convince anyone of the truth that I am Lady Larkin Rosham.
    What is your breaking point?
Betrayal. The betrayal of men has caused me no end of pain and anguish, first my proxy-husband, then his son who claimed to believe me then thought me capable of murder.
What would you like to tell your writer?
You should have made Talon believe me sooner. We would not have suffered so much, if you’d given him just a smidgen more faith in me?

Sally Owens was content to spend her life hiding in plain sight, as long as no one got too close or tried to wrestle the reigns away from her that is…
When she goes out for a night on the town to troll for the new Mr. Right Now, getting kidnapped and shipped out into space was NOT what she had in mind. But above all else Sally is a survivor and she soon comes up with a plan to thrive in this new world.
Arkenon Quinn, Courtesan Guild Master on the planet of Sirus, is informed that one of the new human refugees wants to join the Courtesan Guild and he was of course curious. However, when he meets the audacious and beautiful Sally he finds himself signing up to be the one to mentor her against his better judgement. What he could never have anticipated was how quickly this fascinating creature would steal his heart and force him to do something he’s never had to do before- chase a female.
Will Sally’s painful past keep her from finding a future with the man who’s like no other she’s ever met? Or will she have the strength to place her body and soul in Arkenon’s extremely capable hands?

    Stressing The Hero

Every hero has a story. He has a background, a history, and a past. This interview allows us to meet a hero and get to know him better, by focusing on how he handles being relaxed, as well as how he handles stress.

    The Hero’s Relaxed Side

This hero is at a party. Considering his story, describe the party.
Any party that the Courtesan Guild on Sirus throws is a lavish affair, some are hedonistic while others are centered on traditions and formalities, depending on the occasion.
How does the hero feel about being this particular party, and what body language is he displaying that gives it away?
As the Guild Master it’s not only part of Arkenon’s job to put others at ease in any situation, but as he had taken over this position from his father before him, it’s also a large part of who he is and how he was raised. He has been trained to be in full control of his body language and is a master at only giving away what he intends to.
Is he more likely to mingle or remain aloof?
Ark would be mingling with everyone in attendance, always charming and alluring, making each guest feel welcome and cherished.
If he drinks, what is his drink of choice at this party?
At home with his friends he enjoys a nice cold ale, but at a formal Guild event he would sip on fine liquor.
How much drink is his usual?
Ark never drinks enough that he would be intoxicated; his need for control is too precise for that.
The hero figures out where the hiding places are and then goes there. Is it to hide, to avoid someone, or to go drag a friend back to the party?
Never one to hide from anything, if he is seeking out a hiding place then it would most likely be to coax out the person who is there.
Is he likely to latch onto a friend and stay with him/her and ignore others, or is he the friend that others latch onto?
Arkenon’s magnetism and charismatic personality ensures that he always has admirers flocking to him.
If someone picked a fight at this party, how is the hero going to handle it?
Diplomatically if he can, most likely charming the aggressive party goer into distraction and diffusing the situation.
Is the hero the one most likely to get tossed out of the party, or the one who does the tossing?
No one tosses a Master Courtesan out of a party. ;-)
Will he know when to leave, or stay late and make a nuisance of himself?
He stays long enough to do his duty.

    The Hero’s Stressed Out Side

How does the hero handle it if the cops or some other authority figure pulls him aside when he was blameless in a situation?
He is a formidable diplomat, he would calmly explain the misunderstanding and be respectful of the authorities.
How does the hero react to hearing a scream?
Ark is used to being responsible for a huge community of people, he would no doubt investigate to see if he could be of assistance.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing that crosses his mind?
Outrage, he cannot abide any kind of abuse.
If he sees someone being assaulted, what is the FIRST thing he does?
He would immediately interfere on behalf of the victim.
This hero attempts to rescue someone and realizes that he is in over his head. The odds are against him and there is no way out. He is going to get his butt handed to him. What does he do?
If he must sacrifice himself to rescue someone, he would.
The hero runs into the one person from his past he wanted to avoid. He can’t get out of the situation and must interact with him/her in some way. What does he do?
Arkenon will always try to be polite and professional if he can, but he is no pushover, he will speak his mind if he must and send the unwanted person on their way.
Someone younger than the hero is in charge of the situation, and they are handling it badly, perhaps bungling things. How does the hero deal with it?
Before he became Guild Master he spent years teaching others the skills required to become Courtesans in the Guild, so he knows how to assist and guide without undermining someones confidence or coming across overbearing.
The hero is in physical pain but must bear up under it and keep going. What does he tell himself in order to get through the situation?
Pain is relative, it will pass, but the lessons it imparts will always remain.
What mentor’s words come to mind in a bad situation?
“There was never such a foolish thing done in love, which love could not undo.”
What lesson from his past gets him through a stressful situation?
His father taught him to always be in control of his own reactions, to think first, and act second.
