A Mermaid’s Wish by Lyncee Shillard

    Genre paranormal romance suspense
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Aislynn is a mermaid who has watched humans from afar for thousands of years. A negotiator for Neptune, she wonders, what it would be like to feel anything but especially passion the way humans do when they have sex. The truth is mermaids can’t feel emotions of any kind and hot sex is one of those experiences she wishes for. When the opportunity to become a human – temporarily – presents itself, she takes it.
Finley McCormock is a hard-core, tough as nails divorce attorney who represents rich women leaving their husbands. He has no time to do pro-bono environmental work like his colleagues or to fall in love himself. Why bother? He knows how marriages end. But, his new housekeeper, as odd as she is, gives him a hard on he has to take care of. The good news is Aislynn seems more than happy to oblige. She is his sexual fantasy come true, from the mid-day office visit that includes a spanking session to the trip to Trinker’s Sex Toys. Aislynn is willing to try anything.
But, when Aislynn’s past catches up with her, Finley will have to decide if his attraction for Aislynn goes further than the surface of the water. Does he really want to get in deep with his mermaid?

It’s late, she’s bored. What does she do?
Watch TV – in Atlantis there is no television. She’s sort of addicted to Chopped ;-)
What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?
    Doughnuts.
Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.
Actually, the one thing she doesn’t like about being human is wearing clothes
Does she know how to fix things?
Nope. She’s not even sure what some things are :-D
She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
Her goal is to experience all human emotions – mermaids are void of emotions – so she kisses a random stranger. It doesn’t go well. She tells him he isn’t good at kissing because wanted to moan and no moaning happened but thanks him for sharing the emotion of disappointment with her.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
    Goes for a swim.
Does she drink coffee? If so, how does she take it? If not, what does she drink instead?
She’s about trying various kinds. While, Atlantis has coffee but just plain. She loves flavors especially hazelnut.

I live in the cold Northern Michigan (the place of four seasons – they lie! It’s just different levels of winter) with my husband. Our children have begun their own adventures, and just as I got into the swing of empty nest, my grandson came to live with us. Now I’m doing six again… they argue everything just case you forgot. And I remember why I eat doughnuts.
When I’m not hanging out with the six year-old, I’m writing, reading, crocheting, and making self-care products. I also enjoy taking pictures. I’m not claiming to have a talent it’s just something I like to do.

I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your heroine, but first, tell us about the book.

The Man of Her Dreams by Dee S Knight

    Genre Erotic romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Cassandra Hudson has traveled across country to a small town in South Carolina to find a tall man with deep, blue eyes that she’s only met in her dreams. She’s desperate to solve a mystery that involves her husband who has been dead for over two years. Trouble is, her dream man wants to solve the mysteries of her body more than help her find a solution to her problem.
When Dan Morgan stops to help a beautiful woman on the side of the road outside his hometown, he doesn’t realize that she will drag him into the world of the paranormal in an effort to find out what happened to her husband and the half million dollars he was accused of stealing. What he does realize is the strong attraction he feels for her, despite his distrust of anything mystical. And the undeniable power she holds over him using her sexy body as a lure.
Love will make it both easier and harder for them to find the answers they need.

Know the Heroine from The Man of Her Dreams

It’s late, she’s bored. What does she do?
Cassandra’s profession is creative and artistic—she is a renowned painter and fabric artist. She’s rarely bored because her mind is always teeming with ideas of what to do next. But she loves reading so when boredom does strike, she can pick up a good book. During the day, she would take a walk—she lives in beautiful San Francisco so walking refreshes the mind as well as inspired new ideas.
What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?
Pie. She loves a well-made pie and she indulges in peach pie on her first night in South Carolina.
Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.
Loose, comfortable. When she’s working she needs to be able to move freely, so nothing tight or restrictive.
Does she know how to fix things?
Not really. She can change a lightbulb. As a widow she doesn’t have a man around to “fix” things. But her best friend lives next door and her husband is willing and happy to help with things Cassandra can’t handle.
She tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
She tried to persuade Dan Morgan to help her solve the mystery of her dreams. She’s been dreaming about Dan—a man she doesn’t know—for months. She knows he’s at the heart of why and how her husband died. But… Dan is a former policeman and a realist. He has no use for psychics or mumbo jumbo. She approached him in the worst way and ensured that he wouldn’t help.
How does she act around children she doesn’t know?
Cassandra loves children but she isn’t around them very much. She stands back and takes time to know them. She’s not one of those women who steps forward to hold the new baby first.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
Cassandra has a very even temperament. She wakes up easily and doesn’t get off kilter often.
How does she act around people who don’t know what she is?
Fame and the accompanying fortune is nice but it’s not what motivates her. Therefore, she is very down to earth and easy to be with and talk to. With Dan she might be a little too nice and accommodating, but that is something she has to figure out for herself.
Will she let a worker handle things or do it herself?
Sure. She’s not a control freak. But she does have pretty exacting standards, so that doesn’t mean that she won’t examine the task, whatever it is, when it’s finished.
    Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?
Pierced earrings. She uses accessories when she dresses to go out but not on a daily basis.
    Personal vehicle or public transport?
In San Francisco, public transport whenever possible. But she drove her car across country in her search for the man of her dreams!
    Recycle or toss?
Recycle, definitely! It’s for the good of the planet, and why waste things that can be reused?
Thanks for helping us get to know your heroine!

Please tell us a little about your character.
She’s a mother and wife hiding a lot of secrets from her family. She has had a rough few years starting when she was seventeen years old. She’d rather not dwell on her past. About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions. Questions with more than one point should be considered one question. You may answer as many more as you like.
What do you wish your writer had not told others about you?
I can’t believe my writer wrote about my traumatic teenage years. How embarrassing! It’s hard enough keeping my past from my husband and in-laws. Now the whole world knows the torture I’ve endured. Ugh!
Why do you think your writer loves to write?
I think C Becker likes to cause friction in my relationships. She utilizes my personality and background to create a compelling plot.
What do you wish your writer would write next?
I wish C Becker would focus on how happy Mark and I are after this story ends and stop digging into our secrets. I would imagine a great romance blossoming with no conflict. Ah. If only life was that easy…
What other character from your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
I would like C Becker to write a story about Parker, let him find happiness. I’ve know Parker since I was seventeen. The guy deserves someone who can love him. Parker reminds me of the man who loses everything and walks off into the sunset. I wish David would find someone, too. He needs a woman who can put up with his big personality.

Know the Hero from A Small Degree of Hope by Lyndi Alexander #RLFblog #SciFi #RomanceLyndi Alexander, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We’re excited to find out more about your hero, but first, tell us about the book.

A Small Degree of Hope by Lyndi Alexander

    Genre: sci-fi romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Against her wealthy father’s demands, and the usual blockades of a male dominated profession, Kylie Sanderson proves worthy of her position as lead investigator of planet Andan’s Scientific and Investigative Research Taskforce. Someone is killing Andan’s women in an attempt to mutate them into reptiles. Kylie makes it her mission to discover who’s behind the murders and prevent more grotesque deaths.
Shapeshifting lizard Griff comes to Andan to stop his brethren from mutating other planets’ women into mindless breeding stock. Overcoming Kylie’s suspicious and defensive nature proves difficult, but he must in order to help the SIRT team thwart his planet’s scientists.
When Kylie is abducted and becomes the first human to survive the transformation, it’s up to Griff to rescue her so SIRT can restore her human form. On the run and desperate to unravel the mysteries of Kylie’s past to solve the crimes of their present, can she and Griff forge a future for themselves?

Know the Hero from A Small Degree of Hope

Here are some fun questions to help us know your hero.
It’s late, he’s bored. What does he do?
Griff would revert to his reptile form and go hunting for something to eat.
What kind of food would he impulse buy if hungry?
    Definitely raw steak
Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.
When he’s around humans, he tries to dress unobtrusively–a pullover shirt and jeans. In his reptile form, he finds no need for clothing.
Does he know how to fix things?
Yes. He’s very good at working with things–not so much, working with people.
He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.
Once he’s fallen in love with Kylie, he only wants to save her. But his people want to transform her into a breeding reptile. He is only one alien against all of them, so he isn’t successful at first. He blames himself for her pain.
How does he act around children he doesn’t know?
He loves all small beings, human or alien. He would try to make them laugh.
What is he like first thing in the morning?
He’s all business, at least during the time of our story. We imagine, though, that if he could come to a time in his life where he’s not at war, he could spend time sharing heat with a mate.
How does he act around people who don’t know what he is?
Griff knows that his kind is the aggressor in this conflict, so he’s on guard against most humans at the time of the story. The SIRT officers would likely kill him, not knowing if he’s “one of the good ones.” So he is very low-key and cautious with humans he doesn’t know and trust.
Will he let a worker handle things or do it himself?
He’s a hands-on type of alien–when the only one you can count on is yourself, you need to make sure you’re safe. Fortunately he lets Kylie into his circle and they trust each other.
    Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?
His natural scales are a beautiful mottled red–why decorate?
    Personal vehicle or public transport?
Since he is on a human world instead of his own, he’s mostly on foot or with Kylie in her car.
    Recycle or toss?
He is involved in a life or death struggle with his own people, trying to save human women–I doubt he even thinks about it. Priorities, right?
Thanks for helping us get to know your hero!

Meet Dan Morgan from The Man of Her Dreams by Dee S Knight @DeeSKnight #RLFblog #PNR #psychic

Meet Dan Morgan from The Man of Her Dreams by Dee S Knight @DeeSKnight #RLFblog #PNR #psychicWelcome Dan from The Man of Her Dreams, an erotic paranormal romance.

    Meet Dan Morgan

    Age: mid-30s
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Greenwood, South Carolina
Profession: Maker of fine, handcrafted furniture
    Ethnicity: American, Southern male
Please provide a physical description of Dan.
Am I allowed to say Dan’s handsome as all hell and leave it at that? No? *sigh* Okay. Dan has blue eyes and brown hair that could stand a trim. He’s about 6 feet 2 inches and pretty muscular. He used to be on the San Francisco police force and he’s kept that lean, mean attitude that still shows in stern expressions and confident swagger.
Please tell us a little about your character.
Dan was on the SFPD for years, working homicide until he moved home when he’d had enough death and political bull. He loves his mama and her twin sisters, his house on the lake, fried chicken and hush puppies. And he loves his peace and quiet, which is why he resented Cassandra Hudson poking her nose into his town and his life. He’s a badass and rude when he has a mind to be, but there’s no one better to have on your side when badassery is needed.
Who is the significant other in your character’s life?
Cassandra Hudson, a beautiful, self-proclaimed psychic from California. She shows up, meets Dan by accident and says that she’s there to find him and warn him of a danger to his life. He’s not impressed.
    How does your hero dress?
Casual clothing, jeans and tee shirts while he’s working or fishing, slacks and button-down shirt when he’s out.
What are the qualities of his voice? (pitch, quality, volume)
Rich baritone that drops to a low growl when he’s aroused. He has a decided drawl with soft vowels and a slow cadence that mesmerizes Cassandra.
How educated is this character? Is he book smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
He attended the University of South Carolina, but got his real education on the police force in San Francisco. That’s where he learned to read people and how to handle himself.
Does he scrape by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
Dan makes custom furniture and earns a very good living from it. But what he really cares about is fishing, being with family, and his friends. He loves his town and being able to live life as he wants.
What special skills does your character rely on?
He hasn’t forgotten the skills he learned on the force. So he keeps a sharp eye on his environment, continues training with his revolver and hones his rifle skills with hunting during the season. He also knows where to find the best fishing on the lake and how to fry up his catch. Fine furniture making takes patience and steadiness, as well as a good eye, and Dan has all of those, which explains how he can make such a good living at it.
What is your character’s family like?
Dan’s father is dead, but his mother is still alive and living with her twin sisters in Abbeville, a few miles from Greenwood. His mother is justifiably proud of him, as are his aunts, Birdie and Delia. Birdie and Delia are a hoot! I based them on my mom and her twin sister, who we call the Twin Tornadoes. The nickname fits, as it would for Delia and Birdie. All three ladies are Southern, through and through, which is a characteristic I love.
    Is he close to family?
    Absolutely! Very close.
Does this character see morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
Like many police officers, Dan sees black and white. He’s not a very flexible man in that regard.
What is your hero’s biggest personal flaw?
His inability to bend or see anything beyond his experience.
Why is Dan so unwilling to believe Cassandra?
In addition to the police’s general distrust of psychics, he had a case where the psychic misled the parents of a missing child and the child turned up dead. He has no use for things he can’t logically explain.
If Dan doesn’t appreciate Cassandra’s “gift,” what does he like about her?
Of course, she’s beautiful. And he comes to see how honest she is and sincere. His mother and aunts like her, which is important. And she has real talent—she’s a renowned artist, in both paint and textiles. Since he makes handcrafted furniture, he admires creativity in all its forms.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

To honor the person who chose to share your story, please answer at least four of these questions. Questions with more than one point should be considered one question. You may answer as many more as you like.
Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?
Dee has a vision of the perfect man and I’m it. Haha! No, really, she had Cassandra in mind first and needed a good foil. So she created a hardnosed, irrationally rational, badass—me. And I’m perfect for Cassandra in every way, both as a nemesis and a lover.
What do you wish your writer had not told others about you?
How mean I was to Cassandra at the beginning. It’s not something I’m proud of and my mama would be real disappointed in me if she knew. Which of course she will if she reads this book. Damn.
Was there anything your writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?
Turns out, I have something of a kinky side. I sure as hell never knew it about myself, but I guess Cassandra brings out every aspect of me when it comes to making love. I was surprised but fortunately, neither Cassandra nor I are unhappy about the discovery.
What do you wish your writer would write next?
I think Dee like paranormal, so I believe she should write more of them. She added Passionate Destiny to her paranormal collection, but she should do more.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your writer?
Thanks for opening my eyes to Cassandra’s gifts as well as he beauty. You’ve made me a happy man!

Here are some fun questions to help us know your hero.

It’s late, he’s bored. What does he do?

That’s easy: read. There are more books in Simon’s house than dust motes. He holds some five graduate degrees and is always looking to learn more.

What kind of food would he impulse buy if hungry?

Well, since Simon eats only plain hamburgers and fries, that would be his first and only choice. He does claim that at one time he was a gourmand, but there’s no solid evidence of that. At one point in Flotsam and Jetsam he is under such stress that he accepts a slice of pizza, but sadly (in my opinion) removes the anchovies before eating it.

Describe the kind of clothes he prefers to wear.

Since he is a State Park ranger, he wears a uniform. He’s happy with that—one less decision to make. Of course, it does lead to some confusion, since Ellie also wears a ranger uniform.

Does he know how to fix things?

Unfortunately, he’s one of those nerds who knows all kinds of esoteric stuff but not how to fix a toilet or employ high tech machinery. Ellie has to show him how to use a baby monitor to eavesdrop on the bad guys.

He tried to do something and it went badly. Tell us about it.

He kissed Ellie, and that went pretty well, until Georgia caught them and Ellie got jealous and wouldn’t speak to him. (Correction: she stopped speaking to him after she called him a louse.)

How does he act around children he doesn’t know?

Oh, he’s wonderful, especially with scouts. When a girl scout—acting on a dare—ends up stuck in the mud he delivers her from the jaws of an alligator in the nick of time. Or at least that’s how the other girl scouts tell it.

What is he like first thing in the morning?

A bit too bouncy in Ellie’s opinion. Although when he finds himself getting used to having eggs and coffee with her every morning he resists. (It’s that darn “M” word.)

    Can he use chopsticks?

Of course! Although there’s no real need for them when you have the hamburger bun.

Does he drink coffee? If so, how does he take it? If not, what does he drink instead?

Black and lots of it. After the sun dips below the yardarm, beer. Like his food, he likes it plain and simple—Pabst Blue Ribbon always.

What apps would he have on his phone?

He wouldn’t. No need on a small island in which you know where everyone is at all times. He’s good at science (that degree in criminology) but has no use for bells and whistles.

    Android or iPhone?

Android. He wouldn’t own an Apple product if he and it were the last things on earth.

    Beard or clean-shaven?

Clean shaven—he likes things neat and tidy, except his house. I mean, if the house were tidied up, where would he put his books?

    Earrings/piercings/tattoos or unadorned skin?

No artificial embellishments <he shivers>. Ellie would say he was handsome enough without, but the real reason is that after reading Ray Bradbury’s The Illustrated Man, Simon developed a phobia of tattoos.

    Personal vehicle or public transport?

OMG, Simon’s baby is his 1966 Ford Mustang GT, with the original engine and a fully restored interior with vintage vinyl seats. Georgia claims it’s full of old magazines and books, but in fact Simon keeps it pristine. He also drives a park truck.

    Recycle or toss?

Recycle. He’s a State Park ranger, for heaven’s sake. He picks up other people’s trash.

Thanks for helping us get to know your hero!
