Return to Honor by Alexa Aston

Genre: medieval historical romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
1395 A.D. – Adopted as a newborn by one of England’s most powerful families, Jessimond de Montfort is now grown—and curious about her roots. She sets out to learn who she is away from her family and joins a mummers’ troupe, where she serves as a seamstress and troubadour, hoping she’ll discover love along the way, as all her married siblings have.
Returning from two years of battle in the king’s service, Sir Marcus de Harte discovers his beloved mother has died and his father has remarried and fathered a pair of daughters. His anger drives Marcus from Hartefield from his home and he finds a new home among a group of actors.
Drawn to one another, Jessimond and Marcus become friends—and then lovers—until they are driven apart by unforeseen circumstances.
Join Jessimond and Marcus as they move heaven and earth in order to unite once more and share in a powerful love.
Each book in the Knights of Honor series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
Why did you write this book?
This is the final book in my Knights of Honor series. I’ve told the story of all of Geoffrey and Merryn de Montfort’s children. This is the love story of their youngest, Jessimond, who is adopted.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Besides romance, I love thrillers.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I’m partial to Atticus Finch. He’s a great lawyer, father, and role model for all.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m excited about The King’s Cousins, a trilogy that will come out early in 2019. Each sibling gets their HEA—Katelyn in The Pawn; Landon in The Heir; and Quill in The Bastard.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Besides The King’s Cousins, I have a January release in the Pirates of Britannica series, God of the Seas. The hero, Godwin de Blays, is actually the great-grandfather to the siblings featured in The King’s Cousins.
Next summer, my first Regency trilogy will be released! I’m excited about writing in a new romance subgenre.
