Single mom and bridal makeup artiste Shikha Verma is finally in a good place – both professionally and on the personal front. A chance encounter with a charming musician, who is much younger than her, has her throwing caution to the winds and breaking vows she’s made to herself. Walking away is the right thing to do. After all, she can’t risk another heartbreak when she has only just recovered from one.

Yash Kulsreshtha has never been more attracted to a woman and the lady definitely is into him. Why then is Shikha hell bent on pushing him away? Surely their age difference is not such a big deal? But before he can convince her, she storms out of his life. Are Yash and Shikha destined to stay apart or will life hand them a chance at happily-ever-after?

This novella is a feel-good, emotional romance and the first book of the Soulmates Series.

What’s your favorite hashtag to watch on Twitter?

I’m a die-hard #WritingCommunity fan. I love the way in which the community supports fellow writers. Reading about other writers and their passion projects is very inspiring especially when my own writing is not going well. As for non-writing stuff, I love anything with funny/cute animal videos.

What are your hobbies?

Watching movies is always a pleasure. These days I am always on the lookout for streaming movies that are feel-good and escapist. I just wish there would be more rom-com series out there instead of the dark and depressing content that seems to have become so popular.

When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?

I love reading light romances and romantic drama. Lately, after discovering Outlander, I have begun to enjoy historical romantic fiction.

What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?

Depending on what I’m writing about, I tend to read anything that’s relevant to the period and check out Pinterest images that may fire up my imagination in terms of the look of the character, setting, etc. I need to visualize the scenes in my head as I write; so I read anything that helps me create those mental images.

If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?

Billy Joel’s Just the Way You Are. After all, the book was inspired by this very song.
