Maybe a little. My first round of edits was pretty extensive, and I had a super short deadline from my editor. But I made it!

A little. Just minor things like how long of a drive between two cities and what type of injury would require physical therapy.

No. All humans other than the mention of an elderly neighbor’s dog.

Nope. It’s a straight-up contemporary Christian romance.

No. Unless you count my four years of high school Spanish, which allows me to catch a few words and phrases here and there.
you grew up where you live now?
Yes. After fifteen years living elsewhere, I returned to my hometown a couple summers ago.
you love to read?
Yes, though I don’t have time to do it as much as I’d like to.
you are never late?
Well … Overall, I’m fairly punctual. But having two kids and so much going on in life makes me two to five minutes late wherever I go. Not bad, I guess.

Absolutely! We have it weekly at our house.

Who is your “book boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
I’m particularly fond of Lestat Pointedulac from Anne Rice’s vampire chronicles. He’s arrogant, beautiful, and the perfect alpha hero. He never apologizes for who he is and that’s so seductive to me.
Describe the perfect vacation.
My perfect vacation destination is a wide, sandy beach. Warm water, warm winds, and a cold drink at my side while I watch the waves and get lost in a great book.
When you read for pleasure, what kind of books do you choose?
My preferences differ with the mood I’m in. Right now, I’m working my way through Nora Roberts’s standalone romantic suspense books. I just can’t get enough of them. I’m also a Stephen King horror junkie.
What kinds of things do you read when you’re researching a new book?
Wikipedia is my friend. Right now I’m working on a Victorian paranormal murder mystery involving postmortem photography and corpse medicine. My husband is also a librarian and loves to bring me home lots of books on whatever subjects I throw at him.
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?

Why did you write this book?
I actually wrote this book some years ago. I wanted to write a series about a family of space mercenaries. These men are tough and they’ll do whatever it takes to find their sister, who was abducted ten years before. None of them ever counted on falling in love. Is there anything more fun than watching a hard, tough man fall for a woman?
Rescuing Rory was released back in 2014 for a very short time before it was pulled due to a publisher closure. Now it’s back. There will be four brand new books in the series coming soon.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Romance, of course. I tend to skip around, depending on my mood. I mostly read contemporary, romantic suspense, paranormal, and some historical romance.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
That is so tough. Every time I’m asked this question I answer it differently. I love Rhage from the J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. How can you not love a vampire who turns into a dragon when he’s angry. He’s tough and funny and very protective of those he loves. Rhage has had several books in the series, while being an integral part of them all.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m currently working on a brand new paranormal series. Titles haven’t been finalized yet, but the first book is slated to be released in October.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
It’s going to be a busy year for me. Drakon’s Knight, the next Blood of the Dragon book, releases June 24th and is up for pre-order now. There will be more Tapestries books and more Marks Mercenaries books. (No dates yet.) The first book in a new paranormal series is slated to release in October. Why did you write this book?
As an avid vampire lover, I read many paranormal stories. I wanted to write my own but didn’t know if I could do the genre justice. So this was my first go at paranormal.

Romance across the board.

There are way too many to list, but I can say I enjoy reading about romantic alpha males.
