The Panther's Lost Princess by McKenna Dean @McKennaDeanFic #RLFblog #PNRMcKenna Dean, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

The Panther’s Lost Princess by McKenna Dean

    Genre Paranormal Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Ellie West has always known there was more to her story than being abandoned at birth. A child of the foster-care system, she didn’t get many breaks, but the one thing she can do is sing. It’s her only ticket out of poverty and obscurity. Nothing else matters, not even the nagging sense that she’s different. She’s headed for great things. She only needs a chance.
Jack Ferris couldn’t agree more. His firm, the elite paranormal agency Redclaw Security, has been hired to find a missing princess and return her to her family. Discovering that Ellie, a waitress in a hole-in-the-wall diner, is both the princess and his fated mate is like being hit with a sledgehammer. Ellie West can’t be his mate. She’s the mission.
The sooner Jack completes this job, the better, only Ellie has no intention of throwing her dreams away for a kingdom she’s never known. With hired assassins on their trail, Ellie might not have a choice. They must do whatever it takes to stay alive.
What is your go-to meal when you dine out?
I hate to admit it, but I’m a cheeseburger and fries kind of gal. You know what I mean—where you sit down in that little diner at a table with the red-and-white check tablecloth—and they bring you a monstrous burger on a plate with a heaping of crinkle-cut fries on the side. An ice-cold Coke fizzes in a glass in front of you as the smell of grilled meat wafts to your nostrils. As you take your first bite of that sumptuous burger, Sam Cook’s Stand By Me begins to play on jukebox in the corner. Oh yeah.
Who is your “book boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
When I was a teenager, I discovered the Lord Peter Wimsey novels. While ostensibly mysteries and not romances, the relationship between mystery writer Harriet Vane and Lord Peter is one of the healthiest romances I’ve ever read—teaching me early on what is possible when the man you love views you as a life partner and ally. It deeply influenced my notions of what I wanted in a relationship myself (someone educated, witty, and highly intelligent) as well as the kinds of relationships I want to depict in my own stories: where the man you love brings out the best in you and respect is the cornerstone of the relationship.
There’s a scene in one of the books where Harriet is determined to use herself as bait to flush out a poison pen in a small community. Lord Peter doesn’t forbid her from doing it, or tell her it’s a stupid idea, even though he fears for her safety. He teaches her how defend herself from an attack. That’s my hero.
What’s your favorite hashtag to watch on Twitter?
I have really come to enjoy Sunday evenings and #RWChat. I’ve met some amazing writers there, as well as learned some cool things about writing, marketing, and publishing. It’s great discovering that so many people out there have dealt with the same things you’re going through—and sometimes have cool solutions and recommendations.
    Describe the perfect vacation.
I’d love nothing more than to rent a cabin in the mountains in late winter or early spring. I’d get up early in the morning and take the dogs hiking with a picnic lunch, and come back in the afternoons to get some uninterrupted writing in. After another dog walk, we’d pile up on the couch in front of a crackling fire in the hearth, and read books until I fell asleep.
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Oh, that’s easy—I didn’t even have to think about it! Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood.

Is It True: Always Her Wingman by Jessica E Subject @jsubject #RLFblog #SciFiRomance #NewAdult

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Let’s play Is It True with today’s guest, Jessica E Subject, author of Always Her Wingman a New Adult Sci-Fi Romance. This is a game with yes and no questions. Writers can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

Always Her Wingman by Jessica E Subject

    Genre New Adult Sci-Fi Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
Staff Sergeant Hannah Coriveau dedicated the last five years to the Space Military Command. Heading back to Earth, she’s ready to begin civilian life and reunite with her parents and the boyfriend she left behind. The person she’ll miss most is Garish—her wingman, best friend, and the one who made her regret not being single.
Senior Airman Colin Garish wants his squadron leader. Bad. After spending so much time by her side—both in the Martian skies and on the red planet—being her friend isn’t enough. When Hannah learns of her boyfriend’s infidelity, Colin is there to comfort her.
Before Colin has the chance to confess his feelings, Hannah receives worse news from home. Her father is dying. Seeing her devastation, Colin remains the friend she desperately needs. But in her grief, she pushes him away. Will Hannah let him back in her life when they land on Earth? Or will Colin never get the chance to win her heart?

    Is it true:

    this is your first book?
No, I’ve written several before, and in multiple series.
this book is part of a series?
Yes, this is the first book in the Mars Squadron 17 series.
you lost sleep while writing this book?
Yes, in the beginning. Though I ended up shelving the story for over a year after that. When I started rewriting, I never lost any sleep.
you did research for this book?
Yes, I had to research about what Mars colonies would be like, how astronauts are affected by long periods in space, rehabilitation, space elevators, and so much more.
some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)
All characters are human, though they do encounters a pack of dogs at one point in the story.
this book has more than one genre?
Yes. It’s a new adult futuristic sci-fi romance.
you speak more than one language?
Ye…No. I can read and understand French better than I can speak it.
you grew up where you live now?
    Same city, different house.
    you love to read?
Yes, of course. Though, I’ve been reading from different areas and sources than I used to, trying new things.
    you are never late?
I wouldn’t say never. I’m usually early, but a couple times a year, I might be late because of things that came up.
    you love pizza?
Yes, chicken pizza with spinach, red peppers, onions, and feta cheese. *grins*
    you love sushi?
Oh my gosh, yes! It’s something I’ve recently started to enjoy. I don’t like all types, but there is a sushi place in town that makes really good sushi. The rolls I make at home don’t even compare. My favorite so far is Unagi, or any with eel.
    you have a pet?
Yes, I have a Great Pyrenees/Retriever cross. She’s big and hairy.

Blood Moon, 6th in the Destiny Paramortals is included in the series sale this week.
She could destroy his world…or save it.
There’s a new supe in Destiny. She sauntered into the Moat of Morpheus, a redheaded violet-eyed warrior carrying a giant head-splitter of a sword and wielding it with magic. Her name was Cinder. River felt an immediate attraction as well as a lifting of the despair that had been his only companion for months. But it was short lived.
She was there to kill a dragonhunter and accused River of hiding the truth about him. Turns out, she was right. River had a secret and his own reasons for remaining quiet. If he couldn’t break free from the villain’s control, there would be devastating consequences for his family and ultimately, the other Paramortals.
After his sister and the dragon sheriff go missing, River and Cinder join forces. But history has a way of coming full circle and echoes from their past bring a shattering revelation about their Paramortal family and the dragonhunter’s true identity, a perspective neither of them could have anticipated. Can they forgive the past to overcome their common enemy or will the news tear their relationship and the Paramortals apart forever?

    Gumshoe Girl by Andi Ramos @andiramos #RLFblog #NewRelease #romanticsuspense

Andi Ramos, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

    Gumshoe Girl by Andi Ramos

    Genre Romantic Suspense
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
Sheagan O’Hare got more than she bargained for when her newly inherited detective agency lands its first case; a missing person, embezzlement, and murder. Sheagan’s out to prove she can hang with the pro’s, despite the constant reminder of her amateur status from an annoyingly attractive FBI agent, Colin ‘Mac’ MacEvine, who’s forced himself into her life.
How does she feel when an old high school friend hopes to ignite a new romance?
Will she be able to discover if detective work and love can mingle before someone gets hurt?
Why did you write this book?
It’s been a lifelong ambition to get my stories published, though until now I was dedicated to taking care of my family and raising my children. Now that my kids are teenagers, I am able to take this time to invest in myself and what I want from life. It’s important to show them to strive and reach for their dreams. I want to demonstrate that hard work and persistence can pay off.
What is your favorite genre to read?
My favorite stories are light, funny contemporaries or cozies. I like something I can pick up and put down when I need to. I love to be entertained when reading. When I can laugh out loud, and everyone around me thinks I’m crazy- that’s my best kind of romance story. I think the friends-to-enemies is my favorite troupe it tends to lend itself to comedy very well.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I know I should pick some great literary character from a well-know literary classic, but I’ll be honest I love Grandma Mazur from Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum Series. She is so fun and spunky, I want her to be my Grandma! “I kind of like being a slut” Grandma said “It beats the heck out of being an old lady” – Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich.
What are you working on at the moment?
I have a couple of works in progress including the second in the Gumshoe Girl Series. Sheagan will really have her work cut out for her as she tries to discover the truth behind alleged serial murders. I also have a new series I am working on called the Escape Series. The first book will be called The Pina Colada Catastrophe. I intended this new manuscript to be a contemporary romance, but as I write, I can’t help but weave elements of suspense throughout the story.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
I would love for Gumshoe Girl and/or The Pina Colada Catastrophe to be complete and ready to send to the publishers later on this year.
