    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: New York
    Profession: Alpha
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human): Werewolf
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight. Include
any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars:
His crystalline blue eyes, brown hair styled in a military-style
crew cut, and he wore a short-sleeved polo shirt revealing the tribal tattoo that
covered the length of his right arm.
    Who is the significant
    other in your character’s life?
    Jocelyn, an Elemental.
    What are the qualities
of his voice? (pitch, quality, volume)
He has a deep, rich voice, and has tendency to yell when he’s
    angry.
    Does he scrape by, live
    comfortably, live extravagantly?
He lives extravagantly and has the means as alpha werewolf.
What does he have a knack
    for doing?
He has an knack for pissing off his fated female.
    Is he close to family?
He’s close to his sister, Olivia. She’s more than a century old,
but he’s very protective of her and often treats her like she’s still a child.
    What is your character’s
biggest need at the beginning of the story?
    His fated female.
    What is your hero’s
    biggest hopes and dreams?
He hopes for a world where he can claim his fated, a world
where he could claim his fated, the woman granted for him despite their breed. “Her
soft lips against his made him want to create the perfect world where they could
    live together regardless of breed.”
    What is your hero’s biggest
    personal flaw?
    His temper.

    Interview with Landon Wadden

    Do you believe in love
    at first sight?
I suppose most immortals believe in it. Immortal men have the
ability to recognize the woman fated for them. It’s a gift, a cosmic gift destiny
grants us during the span of our long lives. We wait and wait until we are granted
    this woman, this precious gift.
    Sounds like you’ve met
    her?
(His eyes sparked yellow and he growled.) Is there a question
    in there somewhere?
    Yes, Landon. Have you
    met your fated female?
(At immortal speed, he stood and shoved his fists in his pockets.)
    That’s none of your business!
    Are you often quick to
    temper?
No… yes… It depends. (He sits then shoves his fingers through
his hair in frustration.) I have been quick to temper lately.
    Why is that?
    Because…Because there’s something I want that I can’t have.
    And what is that?
I want my gift. She’s mine. It’s not fair I can’t have her.
Why do you think you can’t
    have her?
(He sighs heavily, and looks away from as if lost in a memory.)
Because… she’s not of my breed, which means she can’t grant me an heir, an alpha
    like myself.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Because I’m burdened with the knowledge my fated could never
    be mine.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
    Don’t mind.
    What do you wish your
    writer would write next?
She’ll continue the series, the love stories of the Elementals
    and their mates.
    What other character from
your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
My sister, Olivia. I’d like to see her settled down with a good
    man, a werewolf.

    It’s Still All About the Book @MarilynBaron #RLFblog #contemporary

    Syping with an Author
    Article by Marilyn Baron
What are the odds that an author in
Roswell, Georgia, would leave a review on Goodreads saying she enjoyed the novel
Coincidence and was looking forward to discussing it with her neighborhood book
club, and that the author, J. W. Ironmonger (John) who lives in Shropshire, England,
would offer to Skype with the book club?
    With
the explosion of technology and social media, everyone reading books in different
formats, after all is said and done, it’s still all about the book. One reader liked
a book, commented on the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations
and the author, all the way in England,
saw the message, was generous enough to respond and give up his time to talk to
a neighborhood book club in Roswell,
    Georgia, about his
book. Despite all the advances we’ve made it’s still, thankfully, all about the
book. Technology is just bringing readers closer to authors.
Our book club met at one of the members’
homes. We enjoyed a beautiful assortment of hors’ d’oeuvres and we made the call.
The connection was so perfect it felt like John was in our living room when he was
actually at his son’s apartment in London
at 2 a.m. The picture faded out a couple of times or froze when he was in the middle
of talking but we found it amazing that through the wonders of technology, we were
conversing with an author across the ocean on a computer about a book.
Everyone in the book club loved Coincidence.
We asked questions and John was delightful. We learned about his background and
the fact that he grew up in Kenya
and when he was 16 he visited a mission school very much like the one he wrote about
in the book. Before he finished the novel he and his son went back to Uganda in 2011 and
retraced the journey the main character made to get to the mission, visiting various
    locations mentioned in the book.
    “Africa
has changed a lot but it hasn’t,” says Ironmonger. “When you get out of
the city you still see mud huts. There’s still a lot of poverty, but it’s a beautiful
    country.”
    Ironmonger combined two ideas into
one book. He had always wanted to set a story in north Uganda and he also
wanted to write a story about coincidences. His main character, Thomas, who studied
coincidences, meets a woman, Azalea, to whom coincidences happen and who is convinced
she will die on a predetermined date. The novel explores what would transpire if
they got together and had a relationship. And there are so many plot twists that
the book will hold your interest from start to finish.
In the book, Ironmonger weaves in
arguments about predestination vs. randomness, free will or the idea that somebody
    is “messing with our lives.”
“It’s easy for us to see patterns
where they don’t exist,” notes Ironmonger. “The truth lies somewhere between
    the two.”
Ironmonger admits he does not believe
in coincidences although he did when he was younger.
    “Sometimes we overanalyze things
that do happen,” he says. “We can’t explain everything and it’s foolish
to try. The message of the book is you can spend all your life trying to solve the
mysteries and none of us ever will.”
In the end, Thomas receives advice
from a colleague: “Why don’t you just listen to Azalea and support her and
see what the next surprise is?” Thomas has to overcome his inertia and decide
if he wants to follow Azalea to Africa or lose
    her forever.
    Ironmonger also discussed the few
    differences between the UK and
    U.S.
versions of the book, which was published by HarperCollins in this country in February.
The book got a new cover and an extra paragraph at the end to give us a happy ending,
but it is pretty much the same as when it was published in England. This is
the first publication of the book in the U.S.
    Coincidence
    Ironmonger’s new book, Not Forgetting
the Whale, will be out next spring. It’s set in a village at the toe of England, accessible
only by one long road in and out. The townspeople, convinced that civilization is
about to collapse, want to seal off the road and the village from the outside world,
and then they save a whale.

    Here’s the description of Coincidence:

What determines the course of our lives? Chance…or destiny?
On Midsummer’s Day, 1982, three-year-old Azalea Ives is found
    alone at a seaside fairground.
One year later, her mother’s body washes up on a beach—her link
    to Azalea unnoticed.
On Midsummer’s Day, 1992, her adoptive parents are killed in
a Ugandan rebel uprising; Azalea is narrowly rescued by a figure from her past.
Terrified that she, too, will meet her fate on Midsummer’s Day,
Azalea approaches Thomas Post, an expert in debunking coincidences. Azalea’s past,
he insists, is random—but as Midsummer’s Day approaches, he worries that she may
    bring fate upon herself.

Interview: Diane Saxon author of Flynn’s Kiss @Diane_Saxon #RLFblog #Contemporary

    Flynn’s Kiss

About Flynn’s Kiss – Disarmed and Dangerous Book 1

    Genre Contemporary Romance
    Author Name Diane Saxon
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

    Interview with Diane Saxon

Why did you write this book?
Long before I had any idea I was going to become an author I
had a scene in my head and my hero was Flynn. It was such a vivid picture in my
mind I felt compelled to write it down.
I started writing books, became published, then last year we
moved house and this two page scene was at the bottom of a drawer in my bedside
table and I read it through and had to write the story. The scene is virtually unchanged
and Flynn is just as much a bad boy as I first imagined him.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Romance. Sub-genres dependent on mood. But I love reading, I
read vast amounts and always have. I change my mind on a daily basis as to who is
my favourite author, my favourite genre. So, here are a few:
    Suspense/thriller
    Paranormal
    Humour
    Historical
    What is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own characters)?
Well, again, I think this is transient for me dependent on my
mood. One that always sticks in my mind is Tim by Colleen McCullough. I read the
book and that character stuck with me. When I saw the film, it was very different,
but the character was still hauntingly beautiful.
    Do you enjoy films and/or
TV shows? Which are your favorites?
I’m not big on TV, but I love films. Good old fashioned romances
with guts. Dirty Dancing, Officer and a Gentleman and who doesn’t love Ghost. Oh,
but please don’t give me unexpected tearjerker ending. Really. There is nothing
worse than feeling that I’ve totally wasted my time watching a film where the hero/heroine
drops dead in the last few frames. And believe me, there are more of those out there
than you realize. No! Don’t do it to me.
    What are you working on
at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?
Well, wow. My head is full and my fingers have been flying. So
    here we go.
Her Captured Groom – Historical romance. Written at Nanowrimo
in November and fully finished. Book 1 in a series of three.
Hawk’s Lady – Historical romance, Book 2. 45k words written so
far – should end at around 60k
    Being Banshee – 48k into a 60k book – paranormal romance (sssshhh
    – that’s all I’m saying until it’s critiqued) Will be finished by mid April.
Now, I don’t normally write two books at a time, but both were
    clamouring for attention.
I have two more in mind for the paranormal series
    Barbara’s Sin – Book 2 Disarmed & Dangerous – skeleton plan
    – Will be finished by beginning of June.

5 Easy Questions: Unleashing the Woman Within @LocGlin #RLFblog #PNR

    Unleashing the Woman Within
5 Easy Questions is an interview is designed to be quick, easy,
and fun. Today’s guest is Loc Glin.
    What is your go-to meal
to order when you dine out? Your favorite “I know it will hit the spot”
    item.
It’s hard to mess up a burger, although it has been done. Chicken
cutlet of some kind can work out well if they don’t put a lot of stuff on it that
I don’t like. Pasta is a safe bet, most of the time. You know…I don’t think I have
an “I know it will hit the spot” item. I don’t eat out very often, so
it’s a crap shoot depending upon where I go.
    What were you like when
    you were in school?
I was quiet, shy and reserved. I haven’t changed much, although
writing erotic romance as I do, it may be hard to believe.
    Would you rather stay
inside and watch snow falling, or get out in it and build a snowman?
I’d rather stay inside. But I have been known to enjoy being
outside, dressed warmly by a chimnea, my hands facing the fire as the snow falls
    gently and silently around me.
    What was your favorite
    book as a child?
As a child, I didn’t really like read. I read what was required
of me in school. I remember a book called “Starman Jones” I have no idea
who wrote it, and the story line escapes me, but for some crazy reason I remember
the title. I think I had to do a book report on it. (from
Kayelle: it was written by Robert A Heinlein and I read that myself! You can
    grab it here.)
If the hero of your latest
book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Bad to the Bone (by George Thoroughgood).

Character Interview: Corporal Nicholas ‘Saint’ Santiago @ovalleba #RLFblog #contemporary

    A Saint’s Salvation

    About the Book

    Title A Saint’s Salvation
    Genre Contemporary Romance
    Author Beverly Ovalle

Interview with ‘Saint’, Corporal Nicholas Santiago

    Tell us about yourself,
    please.
I’m Saint, at least that’s what my buddies call me. My family
calls me Nick or Nico, depending on who it is. I’m having a bit of trouble remembering
who I am. I’ve seen too much of war. I’m a lovable kind of guy, hot, funny and irresistible.
I love to prank my buddies and I’m loyal. I live the Marine motto Semper fidelis.
There is one thing, one person I want that I cannot have.
What is it that you want,
but cannot have? Authors call this the conflict of the story.
I want Doc, but she rebuffs my every move and won’t answer my
letters and IM’s. For god’s sakes I leaped in front of a grenade to save her life!
    What’s your internal limitation?
Meaning, what is it about you that makes it so you cannot do what it is you need
    to do during this story?
Ah, I cannot make my angel love me. Everyone else yes, but not
    her.
    What inner doubt causes
    you the most difficulty?
I have to wonder what is wrong with me. My high school sweetheart
dumped me and my angel isn’t interested. I know I’ve changed and I want to recapture
who I was. I’ve seen too much and need to find my feet again.
    What’s your external complication?
In the story world your author created, explain what it is you fear most.
I fear not being able to feel joy again. I’m afraid I’ll always
be trapped in the darkness of the world I’ve seen.
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
That would be my angel, Doc. Petty Officer Jones. She made me
realize that no matter what, there is a bright side. She faced a whole change to
her world and could still see the bright side, was still finding joy in the world
    around her.
    What would that person
    say about you?
That I was aggravating. That I liked to tease her.
    What is your family like?
My family is great. They embrace and accept me, make me feel
loved and special. They help refocus my life by their acceptance. They remind me
of why I’m doing what I do.
    What special skills do
    you rely on?
The skills the Marine Corps has taught me. If I didn’t have those,
I might not have saved my angel. And my charm of course. *grins*
    If someone from your past
showed up, who would you NOT want it to be, and why?
My high school sweetheart. I’ll face her in my own time, not
    hers. She broke my heart.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
Definitely! The saint got his angel. She is everything I want.

    About the Writer

Why did you choose to write about this character?
It was more of a catharsis, I’m not sure that I had ever planned on finishing it, as Saint has the personality of my son. He joined the Marines and I was missing my buddy, especially when he was deployed to Afghanistan. When he returned from deployment I could separate the two and it took on a life of its own.
    Why do you write?
    It makes me happy.
What do you want to write next?
I want to finish the dragon stories I’m working on.
What other character from this book do you want to write about?
Alejandro. Care to tell us why? He’s as much of a charming rogue as Saint is. I like that.
Are any sequels planned for this book?
Yes. I’ve actually started two, starring Saint’s primos (cousins) Lee and Alejandro.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers?
I love to hear from my readers. What you enjoyed, what you didn’t. I have made changes based on feedback when I worked on my next book. I actually have one who has given me an idea for another book. But I told him I have to finish the ones I’ve started first.
