    Interview with Kathleen Witte

Kathleen, tell us about yourself. What are you like?
    I’m a Texas
girl, born and bred, which makes it kind of funny that I fell for a city boy. But
then, Jackson was a Texas boy at one point! I train horses and live
on the same ranch where I grew up.
What do you think is your strongest point?
My determination. I set a goal and I go after it whole-heartedly.
Do you have a weakness? (If so, what do you think it is? What
does your lover think it is? What does your enemy think it is?)
Sometimes I become so focused on a goal that I miss the point
of living life. That’s what led me to Mexico, which wound up being a good
thing. But at the time, Mexico
felt like the biggest mistake of my life! Jackson
will say my greatest weakness comes when he does this kissing thing on the back
    of my neck…
What drives you to do the things you do? What makes you want
    to be the “good guy?”
    Saint’s Devilish Deal
I think my drive comes from my grandfather, and my father to
a certain extent. Dad wasn’t always around when I was little, so I started trying
new things to get his attention. That didn’t always work, but my boldness did capture
my grandfather’s attention. Him being proud of my accomplishments keeps me trying
    for even bigger goals.
    What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
Dark chocolate with sea salt. I know dark chocolate is technically
better for us than milk chocolate…but it tastes so good I feel guilty enjoying it.
If you didn’t know how old you were how old would you be?
Tough question. I think I’d like to be 28. Because at 28 I’d
be old enough to know better…and still young enough to get away with doing some
    bad things…ha!
A biography has been written about you. What do you think
the title would be in six words or less?
    Kathleen Witte, An Ordinary Girl.
If money were not an object, where would you most like to
    live?
    Texas,
exactly where I am. I’m a very lucky girl – I grew up in the best place in the world,
and now that I’m grown up I get to do the thing I love (train horses) and live there
with the best guy in the world (Jackson).
He comes and goes a little bit, because of his work, but Texas is definitely part of our lives.
What song would best describe your life?
I’m Just a Girl by Deana Carter
If you were a tool, what would people use you to do?
Get the job done! I’m the type of person who can’t quit on a
    task. I’m a hard worker…so I guess I’d make a good hammer.
Picture yourself as a store. Considering your personality
and lifestyle, what type of products would be sold there?
A little bit of everything. Saddles and tack, girlie dresses,
boots. I’m a General Store kind of girl.
As a child, what was your favorite thing about school?
The day being over! I wasn’t a bad student and school wasn’t
hard for me, but I had so much more fun on the ranch that I wished every day for
the 3 o’clock bell to ring.
Tell us an embarrassing story that has to do with a pet. If
you have no pets, a story about a significant other will do. ^_^
Probably one of my most embarrassing moments happened when I
was visiting U-TEP on a college preview weekend. I’m a small town girl and the campus
was huge, but I was so confident that I couldn’t do anything wrong! So I’m wandering
around the campus, not paying attention to where I’m going and I slammed into this
photographer guy – who was none other than my childhood crush, Jackson Taylor. I
had no idea what he was doing there and I was a little snippy with him. I broke
his camera…and it was just bad. That did not lead to us falling in love and living
happily ever after, not for a while. And he still teases me about that day!
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?
    Warning: Contents are Combustible.

Please Fill in the Blanks as Kathleen

I love pizza with extra cheese.
I’m always ready for a picnic.
When I’m alone, I think about my next To Do list.
You’d never be able to tell, but I’m usually nervous.
If I had a halo it would be crooked.
If I could turn back time I’d ask Jackson out way back in college.
I can never eat chocolate because I would never
    stop.

    Contemporary: Sunburn @LeoRosanna #rlfblog

    Sunburn
We’re turning over Romance Lives Forever to author Rosanna Leo today. She’s here to share her new release, out this week, Sunburn.
    – – –
Allow me to offer a huge thank-you to the lovely Kayelle Allen,
mistress of all things romance! Thanks for hosting me. I’m here to tell you a bit about my newest paranormal
romance Sunburn. It is my take on the
myth of the Greek god Apollo. A finer hero there never was, in my opinion. When
you read the stories about Apollo, he is everything a Greek god ought to be:
incredibly handsome, strong, opinionated, and passionate enough to be a true
Alpha, and he loves the ladies! I couldn’t help but use him as my hero.
However, as far as I’m concerned, Apollo is not the only
star of this show. I wrote Sunburn as
    a love letter to Mexico.
I’ve been visiting the Mayan Riviera for the past ten years, and have fallen in
love with it as a vacation spot. It has everything: sun, heat, fizzy cocktails,
gorgeous tanned men. It occurred to me that it might be fun to lift Apollo out
of Greece and drop him smack dab into a Mexican resort famed for its luxurious
    beauty.
I’ve made him the owner of a 5-star resort, and he’s rather
hands on. He becomes even more so when my heroine Patience arrives, complete
with her own set of problems. They bristle when they meet each other, but the
sexual tension is there in an instant. And who could blame them? Surrounded by
palm trees, the scents of cocoa butter and rum, and scantily-clad people, who
    could help falling in lust?
I hope you’ll get a chance to check out Sunburn. And if you do, I hope I manage to whisk you away to this
beautiful place, even if only for a little while.

    Sunburn

    Genre: Contemporary Romance
    Blurb:
Patience O’Conner is a travel blogger who lives for her work.
Her dedication to her readers brings her to the famed Helios Resort in Mexico,
a locale that stuns her with its beauty but at which she suffers from some very
    strange accidents.
Luckily, hunky resort bartender Apollo Delos is always there
in the nick of time, a malcontent guardian angel. Apollo stuns Patience again and
again with his life-saving abilities, to say nothing of his smoldering looks and
apparent desire to keep her alive.
Before long, Patience wonders if there is more to the sexy bartender
than mixed cocktails and insane first-aid skills. Something strange is happening
at Helios and Apollo doesn’t want to talk about it.
Can Patience open herself up to this enigmatic man, even though
she is terrified to be vulnerable again? And can Apollo recover from an eternity
of hurt and learn to trust once more? They must both decide before Death comes calling.

Synithia Williams, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. Let’s talk

Tagline: When a virgin frustrated by her nonexistent dating life
asks a playboy for a one-night stand, can they really ignore their attraction after
    the affair?

After Tasha Smith is dumped yet again because of her virginity,
decides it’s time to stop saving herself for marriage and start dating like women
in the twenty-first century. She sets out to find a man rumored to be good enough
in bed to relieve her of the nuisance, but discreet enough to keep her request a
secret. Jared Patterson seems like the perfect candidate. Yet after one searing
kiss, she wonders if she’ll escape the night unscathed.

Jared’s job as a successful fitness instructor and entrepreneur
has helped him keep a string of meaningless relationships from the east to the west
coast. After learning the hard way that women can’t be trusted, he has no qualms
going from one sex only relationship to the next. Although Tasha is one of the few
types of women he avoids–a good girl–the man in him can’t turn down her tempting
    offer.
What starts out as a onetime thing quickly turns into an affair

    What are your main characters’
    names, ages, and occupations?
Tasha Smith 29 Tasha is the Deputy Director at the Central
    Midlands Recreation Commission.
Jared Patterson 33 Jared is a personal trainer who started
his career helping Hollywood stars get in
shape. He now owns a production facility where his line of health food products
is manufactured and several gym franchises.

    Interview (with Tasha)

    Tell us about the main
character in your current book. What is she like?
Tasha is a strong woman, but slightly naïve. She enjoys reading,
watching basketball and working in her garden. Her family is very important to her.
Every Sunday is spent having dinner with her family. She likes her job, but really
wants to get married and have a family one day.
    If your main character
was here today, what would she say is her strongest point?
Her ability to reign in emotions and handle tough situations
with a level head is her strongest point.
    Does she think she has
a weakness? (If so, what does she think it is? What does her lover think it is?
What does her enemy think it is?)
She didn’t, until she asked Jared to take her virginity. Then
she quickly it was difficult for her to deny him. Jared realizes that she’s attached
to him, but does nothing to change that because he get’s attached to her as well.
    What drives your heroine
to do the things she does? What makes her want to be the “good girl?”
Her father is a strict Baptist minister that instilled the importance
of abstinence until marriage. This was okay for her in high school and college where
she saw lots of her friends end up with broken hearts because a guy dumped them
after having sex. But later it wasn’t such a novelty. Men weren’t interested in
dating a woman when sex automatically meant marriage. She’s tired of her virginity
hindering her love life and that’s why she asks Jared to relieve her of it.
    What’s your main character’s
    favorite guilty pleasure?
Before Jared, it was laying around watching Sports Center.
After Jared, it was sneaking off to be with him.
    If you didn’t know how
old you were how old would you be?
Despite achieving so much in my career, the being unable to lose
my virginity by 29 makes me feel as if I’m still in my teens.
    A biography has been written
about you. What do you think the title would be in six words or less?
Getting more than you bargained for
If you came with a warning
    label, what would it say?
Caution: This woman may be virgin, but she will bring a certain
    playboy to his knees.

Please Fill in the Blanks (as Tasha)

I love pizza with pepperoni and sausage.
I’m always ready for watching a good game of.
When I’m alone, I work in my garden.
You’d never be able to tell, but pretending to be my daddy’s
good girl is annoying the crap out of me
    .
If I had a halo it would be on
fire because of the thoughts of Jared running through my head
    .
If I could afford to go to the NBA all-star weekend I’d
attend all the parties and meet my favorite NBA stars.
I can never regret asking Jared to take my virginity because
in the end it was a blessing.

    Interview

How do you come up with ideas?
Ideas come from anything and everything. Words,
names, places, a gesture, an action, some long ago remembered memory.
What do you enjoy most about writing?
The creativity and imagination that I get to
use in creating people, places and situations. Where no matter what struggles your
characters may go through, they can usually find their happy ending.
Where do you start when writing? Research, plotting,
    outline, or…?
When I start writing a new story it’s usually
just by the seat of my pants, letting the character tell me where they want their
story to go. I’ll have an idea of where the story is going, but sometimes it twists
in a totally different direction. For others, I will do the research first, and
plot some, but I still like to just write and see where it takes me. Sometimes,
I just sit and write the scene I’m working on or future scenes in my head, rewrite
it until I’m happy with it, and then actually type or write it down.
What did you learn from writing your first book?
That I had a lot to learn about writing itself.
When I look back over my first manuscript, I cringe. From then until now I’ve learned
so much and feel my writing is stronger than ever, though it is an ever evolving
    process.
    Is your muse demanding?
Yes…and no. Some days I feel she’s taken a permanent
vacation to some tropical locale and left me to fend for myself, others she’s so
insistent that I have to write or face the consequences of no sleep or not being
able to concentrate on anything else I may have to do that day.
List two authors we would find you reading when
taking a break from your own writing.
It varies from day to day, I’m constantly downloading
new books on to my Nook, but I’ve recently read two of my favorite author’s latest
books, Faith Hunter’s, Death’s Rival and Seanan McGuire’s, Ashes of Honor.
If money were not an object, where would you
    most like to live?
Scotland or Ireland. Places rich with history and
    where my family came from.
As a child, what was your favorite thing about
    school?
Hearing the final bell ring. No, not really,
I mostly enjoyed my science and world history classes.
Do you play any online, board, or role-playing
    games? Which ones?
Yes. I’ve played World of Warcraft off and on
since 2006, and even for a time Dungeons and Dragons with the same friends that
    got me into WoW.
Tell us an embarrassing story that has to do
with a pet. If you have no pets, a story about a significant other will do.
In sophomore year of high school, I got a new
puppy. A tri-colored Basset Hound I named Gandalf. I took him everywhere with me,
and being the lazy eight week old he was I carried him around a lot. On this particular
day, I was driving to the local college for a French Club function we were having,
and Gandy was in my lap…I was turning onto the road I needed to go the parking lot,
and his hind leg got stuck in the steering wheel, he was looking bewildered as he
was half dragged out of the one arm I had holding him, and I was panicking as the
wheel wasn’t turning as it should, and there in front of us was an electric pole.
Quick action and assistance from my mom who was in the passenger seat, saved us
from disaster. It’s a funny story now, but was quite scary at the time, needless
to say, Gandalf never sat in my lap while I was driving again after that, though
he tried, even when he was full grown.

    Please Fill in the Blanks

    I love pizza with pepperoni.
I’m always ready for an interesting off-the-wall
conversation or an ice hockey game
    .
When I’m alone, I like to turn the music up
loud and write, or read, depending on my mood
    .
You’d never be able to tell, but I was a baby
beauty queen and a goon on the ice (though a sneaky one, I rarely got a penalty.
“Oh, did your skate trip over my blade?”)
    .
If I had a halo it
    would be slightly crooked.
If I could be any animal for one day I’d
be a ferret, and do a weasel war dance, because it looks like fun.
I can never cheat on a spouse because
I know how it feels to be cheated on.

People often ask what inspires me to write. The answer is odd
things, strange things, and sometimes bizarre things. An idea can arrive at the
most inopportune moment and can be set off by a random thought. As a teenager I
had a friend who had a flasher living across the street from her. Being pubescent
girls we found the whole thing rather fascinating but it got old quickly. This memory
came back to me as I was contemplating my neighbor, the local Avon
lady, and wondering if she had ever watched Edward Scissorhands… and so my book,
Go With the Flo was born. A heroine trying to emulate Peg Boggs and find her Edward
Scissorhands ends up playing private eye in an attempt to find a missing flasher.
Now aren’t you glad you can’t see what else is hiding inside my head?
Anyway, I digress. I do that a lot. Back to the topic at hand.
I love music. Other then when I’m at the day job I rarely exist in silence. When
I decided to write Hot Male about the dark haired, dark eyed, sexy male Irish stripper
that played a bit part in Male Order and Male Review, I started the book in the
middle. I had an idea to carry it on from where Male Review left off. Then I was
driving to work one morning and the first few sultry notes of Gary Moore’s Parisienne
Walkways wailed out of my CD player and I knew what was missing. I had an idea to
write a short freebie that showed Michael doing a very slow and sexy strip to this
song, but once it was written I wasn’t so sure. It was steamy as hell. I needed
a cigarette after it was done and I don’t even smoke, but where on earth did it
fit? I sent the prologue to Jennifer Hassani at Liquid Silver Books and asked for
her opinion. She read it, found the song on You Tube, and told me this was no freebie,
this belonged at the start of Hot Male. So after an extensive rewrite the very long
and very sexy life of Michael Monaghan was born. It’s the biggest thing I have ever
written, and Michael asked why I ever doubted he would be my biggest.
    So
now to the verdict. Once you’ve read it you tell me, would you love to see this
scene played out in real life? I know I would!
